Wow! Oh Wow! That dude's a spammer's spammer. Wonder if he did it to any of the politard threads too?
Then again, would they think he was just posting politard opinions?
Answered my own question. All 73 of its posts were on this thread last night.
Edit! Woooohoooo to ST. All 73 spam posts have gone to spam heaven.
Too early to celebrate in the proper manner.
Darn.

Reilly - I'm still here, though no longer in the Centre of the Universe and back in the Great White North.
Let's see, if I recall correctly, it was a bit of oaked Aussie Chard. I don't get it - why would you drink it unoaked, Sac? [Of course, it wouldn't be naked if it were oaked, now would it?]
Spider - do you know the difference between Gnarly Head and Toasted Head, and what they both mean?
Fritz - are you in Argentina now then? I was unimpressed with the Cline Zin when I bought some in Hawai'i. I'm guessing it was the nine-dollar Trader Joe's variety. [Not that there is anything wrong with plenty of nine-dollar bottles from TJ's] Is the old vine stuff better?
Incidentally, me buckos, if you are going to post in My Thread, then you are henceforth required to Put Capitals on your Grape Varietals.
Accordingly, we shall nevermore refer to Chardonnay as chardonnay, nor shall we refer to Zinfandel as zinfandel.
Get it????
Edit: I just had a glance up-thread, and I see that you guys DO get it. Excellent!

Pete, I abide by your rules.
Gnarly Head refers to old vine grapes. That is grape vines some decades old. They cut the branches off every year and stump gets quite gnarly. The brand Gnarly Head seems to not have their own vinyards but buys grapes from growers around the Lodi (north central valley) area and puts them up. The Zinfandel is way good. Their Merlot is the best for sure.
Toasted Head is a brand and it refers to their Chardonney where in the barrel aging process they take one end of the oak barrel and char it to give it an imperceptibly smokey slant. It is excellent.
Both brands are excellent and fortunately available at a good price at most major grocery store chains.
All of my information is strictly from the label of the bottles and is totally subject arrogan... error.
EDIT: Chris Mc & Co. Thank you for cleaning the spammer out of this thread.

PTPP: Sorry that I wasn't more specific on the Cline Zin. I agree, the cheap Cline Zin is shisty. Cline Ancient Vines has been selling at our local Costco for $9.99 a fifth, so it is in my price range.
I am not in Argentina, but wish to be. I was minding the rules of this thread & posting drunk: which can lead to some loss of tense.
That is a bottle of Don Diego Cab in the photo. We were at El Boliche de Alberto's lakeside location in Bariloche. Busy place, since the locals like it too. The downtown Alberto's is smaller, and not as friendly.

Wow, good answers, all!
I'm at my son's place, we're starting out on Sailor Jerry's and grapefruit pop - superb mix. I couldn't find any Sailor Jerry's on the way to Yos, and had to settle for Capt. Morgan spiced rum, which is hugely inferior.

for the moment life sounds, tastes, smells and feels right:
1. one hour out from capping off my work week (60 hrs ugh)
2. just fixed myself a sausage, spiced feta, honey mustard, fresh arugula sandwhich.
3. "in the path of thunder" is trickling out of my speakers
4. storm is brewing outside,
5. just cracked a pint of hop stoopid ale, and im one sip closer to stoopid.
i think i failed the rules test.
i always do.

Gnarly Head does buy from lots of local growers here in Lodi. There is no legal definition for old vine but about 30 years is what most producers use. A couple of vineyards I helped to plant are already old vines. Makes me feel old.

Ah yes, the Appelation Lodi. Right up there with Chateau Livermore. Amazingly, there are some damn fine Chards coming out of Livermore.
And as mentioned above, though spelled incorrectly, you can't go wrong with the Seven Deadly Zins. Amazing that they have kept up their quality for so long.
Drinking the Beast - Milwaukee's Best - 5.9%. Cheap Merrican beer. Half the price of our Hoser stuff. It's amazing that Canada custom seldom checks under muddy caving gear.

I'm always up for a challenge! What did you have in mind? Are you any relation to Anders?
My son and I just did a cold shot of Molson Canadian, but only six ounces. Poke a hole in the can, etc.
So what's the challenge?

Reilly,
Ottawa Doug blessed me with a bottle of ice wine from way up North. Wow! Best part was that he and Hugo got to share it with me after they pushed the Zodiac. Good people. Good times.
