public-sector jobs increased by 6.4 percent, according to the federal
If those are federal public sector jobs Texas has no control over those, one way or the other
Those are STATE jobs, they are REPORTED by the FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF LABOR STATISTICS. Where did you get your chart, DUH?

Donald, sorry I don't get it.
What exactly is the point of your above photos?
Is it to show that President Obama, having killed Bin Laden, is a military leader?
Should Obama be wearing a marine uniform?
What is your point, assuming you have one you are trying to make?

Ah!
Now I get your point, Donald.
Bush and Cheney tried for eight years to get Bin Laden, and Obama did it in 27 months.
Thanks for pointing that out Mr. Thompson.

large and expanding military presence and an influx of federal stimulus money, the
No place in the propaganda piece you cited is there mention of "state Jobs"
It just says "guvmint Jobs"
Donald, the entire article, and the entire COUNTRY is talking about JOBS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, and ALL THE JOBS THAT HAVE BEEN GENERATED IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.
you know, TEXAS. The state that Perry is the Governor of. That is why they are writing about TEXAS. and the JOBS in TEXAS. Not OKLAHOMA. But TEXAS. That is why it is supposed to be a big story.
It's called the "Miracle in TEXAS"
I think it would sound better if they called it the
"Miracle in Mississippi" I wonder why they don't??????
Maybe your chart was mislabeled, and it should have been Mississippi instead of TEXAS??

Seriously, we should be talking about SPENDING.
The biggest SPENDER was Republican BUSH, who added SIX TRILLION to the National Debt by signing the Medicare Part D bill, putting us in to two wars, and pissing away the Clinton surplus by cutting taxes, primarily for Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

Nah, we should be talking about unemployment. 'Cause that's the real problem.

Ok, let's talk about job creation.
Bush and his fellow Republicans enacted the largest tax CUT in US History in 2003.
Four short years later, the country went in to the worst RECESSION since the 1930s.
Clearly, cutting taxes does NOT create jobs, but is does add greatly to the national debt.
---
Any kind of infrastructure rebuilding proposal by Obama to create jobs will be defeated
by the Republicans in the House.
-------------
So, is the point that the Federal Government should do nothing to try to lower unemployment because any kind of effort would be a "spending" bill, and thus won't pass?

Donald, are you aware that Texas boomed in employment because a large part of its
economy is OIL, and when oil went from $40 to $100 a barrel, a LOT of people got hired?
Are you aware that California does NOT depend on pulling oil out of the ground for its
economy?
-
Also Donald, what exactly is your point?
Is it that Texas, because it produces oil, is "better" than California? Do you love Texas or something, own land there maybe?
What is your point?

NY Times:
Little Resistance as Rebels Enter Tripoli
Rebels Claim They Have Captured Two Qaddafi Sons
My eyes well up and my throat tightens with feeling for the Libyan rebels, who have persevered against great odds and with great courage, not knowing how to fight a war yet fighting nonetheless, and now on the verge of winning.
They have right and morality on their side. I hope that when they take control, they will be able to resist destructive urges such as tribalism, lust for power, using gunfire to settle disagreements, and failing to realize that, despite the issues that may divide them, they all have one overriding issue in common: desire for freedom.
It is this desire that has brought them this far, and in forming a government and a political system - things in which they have absolutely no experience, at the express commands of Qaddafi - they must remember that above all they are human beings who love freedom enough to die for it, and it is freedom that can unite them and show them how to govern themselves.
Where are the critics of President Obama now who wanted an all out American presence to enforce this UN mandate? The argument that Obama was leading from behind was branded as a bad strategy, and with this result of no Americans having been killed in toppling Qaddafai, what was so wrong with that strategy? And so we beat on..

Once again, the strategy decided upon by President Obama a few months ago is on the verge of accomplishing its objective: the end of the Qaddafi regime in Libya.
He'll be achieving a goal that has eluded presidents going back to Ronald Reagan.
And President Obama did it without putting American boots on the ground and without placing our soldiers in harm's way.
President Obama got Osama bin-Laden.
And now President Obama is about to bring Qaddafi down.
Well done sir.
I trust President Assad in Syria is paying attention.

We should remember that this is only one of a series of events that began in Tunisia months ago and that continue in Syria and other countries of the region. There are an enormous numbers of young people in the 'near east' as there was in America in the late sixties and they have aspirations that some of these states have been able to answer to some degree(Egypt) and that others have not. Any national leadership that refuses to bend with this wind are going to find themselves facing the wrath of a populace that is clearly running out of patience. Are you listening over there in Damascus?

It is time to recognize the fallacy of media and Republican descriptions of this war. This article (as well as some of the commentators) characterizes the 6 month campaign as inconclusive up to this point. The facts speak for themselves. An extremely ruthless and powerful dictator with all the military forces on his side has been defeated in what can only be described as astoundingly fast by comparison with other past military campaigns. The battle for Libya will be looked at in the future as an example of a well though out and well executed campaign against all odds. This was done with the political opposition in the US hounding the president at every turn. Let's give Obama the credit that he deserves for ridding the world of a problem that has festered through the past four administrations without a single American casualty. If only President Bush had been so competent in his two wars, we would not be in the calamitous economic circumstances that we now find ourselves.

Despite copious amounts of criticism concerning Libya by the Obama haters over the last few months, it seems like he was right, once again. The despot who was responsible for 270 lives in the terrorist bombing of Pan Am 103, appears vanquished. Obama, through NATO, successfully limited American engagement in a time when our military was stretched thin, and still chose the correct path. In retrospect, Reagan's F111 attacks, which were followed by chest beating by the right wing, pale by comparison. Freedom and the will of the Libyan people have prevailed with the support of the American military and the President of the United States.

Muammar Khadaffi came to power in 1969, during Nixon's administration. He has wielded a despot's cudgel over his people for 42 years. Through the American presidencies of Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and now Barack Obama. And tonight or very soon his tyranny will be ended over Libya. We can say that Libya's Arab Spring occured during President Obama's administration, that Osama bin Laden was dealt death by Seals in Pakistan during Obama's first term watch. What other world-shaking events will happen during President Obama's 2nd term?

The rebels have taken the central square in Tripoli - I have seen the rebels live, in the square, on al-Jazeera. So it is over. All that remains is to see if Gaddafi Sr. surrenders, like his sons, or if he ends up dead.

All quotes from the New York Times
Another foreign and military victory for President Obama. As far as we know, not one American was killed in the takeover for Libya. President Obama accomplishes feats that the blood thirsty neo-conservatives only talk about such as the killing of Osama bin Laden and the ouster of Qaddafi. The neo-cons are chicken hawks from Bush/Cheney to Bachman/Perry/Romney!
