Bobby, Faith, Jim, and Ann,
Just wanted to let you all know that you continue to be in my daily prayers. Such good news about your progress, Bobby. I've heard wonderful things about Craig. Continue to mend and heal each day.
Faith, you are probably in Africa by now so enjoy some time there. Saw a special article about you in the Cody Enterprise. Congratulations!
Ann and Jim, take good care of yourselves and enjoy some time with Bobby.
Sincerely,
Betsy Sell

hey there... just a bump, before i am off for the night...
i had seen some folks planning climbs for the holidays... so i though perhaps there may be some of bobby's buddies around, too, planning stuff for the holidays that he may like to hear about...
so when some of you all show up here, as many do keep showing up:
go for it, guys....

hey there to bobby and his family...
as winter is upon us all..
and your winter, stamina, must stand tall...
here's a few winter quotes from others in life...
that encourage or give out views of ongoing insight...
as the snow comes down..
and you are warm, snug, and sound...
perhaps one-day bobby will decide it should be...
he himself, writing winter verses, too, you see...
god bless... here they are:
In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.
Albert Camus (1913 - 1960)
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.
Anne Bradstreet (1612 - 1672), 'Meditations Divine and Moral,' 1655
In the bleak midwinter Frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron, Water like a stone; Snow had fallen, snow on snow, Snow on snow, In the bleak midwinter, Long ago.
Christina Rossetti (1830 - 1894), A Christmas Carol
Every mile is two in winter.
George Herbert (1593 - 1633), Jacula Prudentum
One kind word can warm three winter months.
Japanese proverb
Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart.
Victor Hugo (1802 - 1885)

Bobby scheduled for surgery next week on his problematical backside aka bedsore. A bitch bump but then Craig Rehab. We are ready and so is Bobby! Faith will be sending you the Craig address for cards, etc. Have a wonderful Xmas and look forward to hearing from you.

hey there bobby's mom/ann... say, hope you made it to denver okay--did i remember that right?
here are some more quotes.. first winter, and reflections on how even our life seasons, move with this:
SHARED FROM:
http://www.factmonster.com/spot/winterquotes1.html
Compiled by Ann-Marie Imbornoni:
1)Announced by all the trumpets of the sky,
Arrives the snow.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
Poems, "The Snowstorm," 1884
2)Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
Robert Frost (1874-1963)
"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening," 1923
3)I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape . . .
Andrew Wyeth (1917- )
quoted by Richard Meryman in The Art of Andrew Wyeth, 1973
4)In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candlelight.
Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894)
A Child's Garden of Verses, "Bed in Summer," 1885
5)It snowed and snowed, the whole world over,
Snow swept the world from end to end.
A candle burned on the table;
A candle burned.
Boris Pasternak (1890-1960)
Doctor Zhivago, 1958
6)Over the river and through the wood,
To grandfather's house we go;
The horse knows the way
To carry the sleigh,
Through the white and drifted snow.
Lydia Maria Child (1802-1880)
Flowers for Children, "Thanksgiving Day," 1844-1846
NOW--PERHAPS you all can glean from these winter verses, as to the order that i posted them in, and picture what you are going through now---go back and match the numbers to the encouragement:
1)first comes the harolding of a "hard season"
we see in the "air" about us...
2)then, we see how it "layers out" around us and others, whether the "others" are nearby or not--it is affecting all...
3)yet, in this "new landscape" (the hospital) you see and learn the "inner structure" of "holding up inside"...
4)you go prepare and face it, as if by "candle light"...
5)trouble seems to drag-out long and dreary, yet the "light stays"...
6)then, the day comes when we "travel over" the troubles, and go to share "thanksgiving" with our friends/family--even through the "trouble" still lays about (as spring has not yet come)...
prayers and best wishes for the good news of the craig move...
bless you bobby model--winter can be a challenge, but this you know, as you've pushed-through many outdoor winters, as we have learned from, by seeing a few of your snow-picture adventures!

Hey Bob-Meister,
Am sitting at the Java House in the ABC Center, with Julie, and I have to say, all we keep talking about is .... YOU! I hope you can feel the good vibes coming your way because that's all we've been doing all week-end long. I even saw the pics you took of Jules and Eduardo's wedding and of course, they are completely awesome. We drove by Quarry Lane in Karen on Friday and as we did, we both yelled "hi Bobby" so you (as well as all your neighbours, no doubt ...) may have heard us all the way from Denver...
We had a brilliant week-end in Naivasha, went for a boat ride on the lake, saw some AMAZING birds (my favorite was the fish eagle) and came a little close to a few hippos for my taste. We also had dinner at the Talisman, went to the top of Julie's farm - with a breath-taking view of the lake, played around with our Macs, Jules went riding - I tell you, Bud, you had an awesome week-end, albeit vicariously ....
The news from Faith is that you keep improving, with a few bumps in the road, which strikes me as exactly how driving in Nairobi is - how appropriate. I know that already you know this, but you can never hear it enough: we're all thinking of you, our thoughts, our prayers, all the good vibes in the world are coming your way. So, don't worry about a thing, take your time, keep improving, keep regaining your strength, keep giving your family the now famous thumbs up, and know that we are all there, by your side, no matter how far we may be.
And, as always, remember that I hold you close in the back of my mind,
Charlotte

Hey Bobby! I heard from a few different people through the grape-vine how much positive progress you are making. I just want you to know how proud of you I am. You have always been the consummate worker in all things you do. Here's to moment by moment progress! Remember that nothing ever happened in the past or will happen in the future, it happens only right now at this moment. So here's to you for keeping it in the "Now". You are much loved and admired by all of your friends that you've grown up with. Most of your friends from Cody sure don't write much, but I'm here to tell you that we talk about you, your sister and your progress all the time. You have always taken the hard road, but as we've seen, it's usually the most scenic! Merry Christmas and here's to 2008! Keep it coming!
Your Pal,
Lyon

Faith,
I thought it had been way too long, so I looked you up and quickly realized what a tough year you and your family have had. You were there for me in my toughest times, and I will always be here for you if you need a friend (even a long, lost one).
Please take care this holiday season. You'll be in my heart.

hey there to bobby's mom ann, and BOBBY:
CHRISTMAS QUOTES, NOW... hope they get you all ready for the christmas and new year holiday... (will even find you all some new year quotes, too)... here you go:
SHARED FROM:
http://www.theholidayspot.com/christmas/quotations.htm
2. "If there is no joyous way to give a festive gift, give love away."
~ Unknown
5. "Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas."
~ Dale Evans Rogers
6. "Christmas gift suggestions:
To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect."
~ Oren Arnold
9. "I have always thought of Christmas as a good time; a kind, forgiving, generous, pleasant time; a time when men and women seem to open their hearts freely, and so I say, God bless Christmas!"
~ Charles Dickens
10. "Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas."
Calvin Coolidge
13. "Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childhood days, recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth, and transport the traveler back to his own fireside and quiet home! "
--Charles Dickens
14. "The only real blind person at Christmas-time is he who has not Christmas in his heart."
Helen Keller
16. "There is no name so sweet on earth, no name so sweet in heaven, The name, before His wondrous birth, to Christ the Savior given."
George W. Bethune
17. "Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart."
Washington Irving
20. A Christmas candle is a lovely thing; It makes no noise at all, But softly gives itself away; While quite unselfish, it grows small.
Eva K. Logue
26. At Christmas I no more desire a rose
Than wish a snow in May's new-fangled shows,
But like of each thing that in season grows.
William Shakespeare
here's to you bobby.. i dont know you, of course... but my heart is like the heart of all good sisters, mothers and grandma, and good buddies, all rolled into one...
hope these quotes, to just what they say:
hope they cause the good lords' REAL christmas LOVE to abound and move in the midst of you all, glow unselfishly, and shine light on blind spots, bring back childhood joys... kindle more love, and hope you have a wonderful list of unwrapped gifts of the heart being shared around you bed, and in your room...
and perhaps you all can pretend its a bit of wyoming snow, outthere... as well... but just for a BIT---as the last quote says to enjoy EACH thing in its SEASON....
this year will one day be cherished for what it is... as you step into the future... god bless...
happy christmas to you all, a mite EARLY.... MORE to come later...

12-20 update from Faith
Dear All,
Warmest of greetings to everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that Bobby
has moved to Craig! Happy holidays indeed. Although Bobby won't be able to
start his official rehab for another month (he'll be on bed-rest due to the
surgery on his pressure ulcer), he will be able to move forward on a number
of therapies and we are absolutely THRILLED with Craig! It's an enormous
relief and while there is lots more to tell, I don't have a great deal of
time at the moment, but will write more soon.
Blessings and lots of joy to all of you!
Faith

hey there bobby, and all your family...
may this evening, in just a few hours, be a warm way of sharing an eve of new beginnings, and, for the soon coming new year, just a week away, as well...
may the good lord continue to go on ahead of you, forging new ways, and smoothing out the rough spots, so you can once again manuever through life, as a most creative adventurer, full of the love the good lord's good earth, sea, and wonderful sky above...and more important--with those you love and admire as a happy throng of friends and good buddies from all over...and, of wyoming, to boot...
may you count your blessing, with the view of each and every star....
happy christmas eve to you, bobby and your mom, and all that are with you this night!...
** say, hope that BIG KITTY is giving a good therapy workout---keep it purring... !!!!....
happy "snow is glistening" season, too...
sing some happy SONGS, you all...they are MEDICINE to the heart, and bring out the young child in us all... :)
*say, perhaps an address, for the new year, and we can send some cards... god bless... happy christmas eve, and day!
