I can "touch and feel" (It's what I do) that Mueller will hit hard and fast, with a great crescendo of indictments, all at the same time.
Mueller's earlier indictments against foreigners were warnings that were not heeded by the domestically doomed. Nobody came forth, asking for forgiveness. Now, they're gonna get what's coming to them.
I can imagine forty indictments. But, that is just my opinion.

With the excesses of Nixon, Vietnam, DDT, institutionalized racism, the discrimination of women and so on, the far right slunk into a dark corner for a period and the far left surged in mass influence.

When exactly did this surge occurr, while the far right slunk into a dark corner? When did it peak?

Vietnam protests hit critical mass in '66 or '67. Nixon dealt with it for four years, before winning re-election, with over 60% of the popular vote and a crushing landslide in the Electoral College.

DDT? Was that major issue? On par with Vietnam or the Civil Rights movement?

Jimmy Carter barely beat Ford.

Far left surge? Sure thing.

Well, I suppose senate republicans also have tds, since they unanimously passed a resolution pushing back on trump’s “enemy of people” bit.

You are right...but the press isn't free anymore. Bought and paid for by the liberal left.

You've never bothered to actually look at who owns the press, have you?

c'mon guys, Jody don't history too gud.

factual comparison of Mussolini's press censorship and our president's anti-american, anti-Constitutional attacks on press freedom just don't work, at least when you're talking to a person ign'nt of historical facts.

Trump is an embarrassment, but the market is at record highs.

I don't credit him, but I feel sorry for all the foolish people who have failed to take advantage of the greatest wealth building engine in history. 85% of stocks are owned by the richest 10%.
I'm tired of hearing all the whiners.

I have a friend who came here broke on a student visa ten years ago, worked her ass off, became a citizen, invested in real estate, and is now worth mid six figures, well on her way to early retirement.

Amen. Worked with a young Filipino dude when I was at Prudhoe Bay. He was a busboy in the cafeteria. Lived with his mom, saved every penny, and bought real estate. At 30 he already owned a 8 unit apt bldg in Fairbanks. Prolly owns two or three more by now.

Not sure if you're suggesting that the top 10% of us don't whine or not, TV, but I can think of a few who sure do.

Why should anyone, no longer working for the government, be allowed to keep their security clearance?

Why should anyone, no longer working for the government, be allowed to keep their security clearance?

Because they choose to and they haven't done anything to cause it to be revoked.

There is a document describing legitimate grounds for revocation.

None of which are applicable in Brennan's case, apparently.

Instead, Sanders clarified, Trump is considering steps by which their clearances can be revoked because “they’ve politicized and, in some cases, monetized their public service and security clearances,” as well as “ma[de] baseless accusations of improper contact with Russia or being influenced by Russia against the President.” In 11 years of representing civilian employees, military personnel, political appointees and government contractors in security clearance proceedings, I [Mr. Moss] can say with certainty that these types of “allegations” are nothing like anything I have ever seen in a memorandum outlining bases for denying or revoking a security clearance.

Bradley P. Moss is a partner at the Washington, D.C. Law Office of Mark S. Zaid, P.C., where he has represented countless individuals (including whistleblowers) serving within the intelligence community

What do most politicians do after they leave office?

“they’ve politicized and, in some cases, monetized their public service and security clearances,”

You will just bitch to the administration, again,
so i'll refrain from calling u a disingenuous Big C conservative.
In every way, the values being fostered, are not conservative.
Dangerously, by politicizing of security clearances, it also starts to pressure, politicize by threat, the security services.
to send a signal
you all work for me u only toe trump line-

Mixed with a disregard for the US Constitution, a totally flaccid response to attacks from our expressed enemies,
to the point of embrace & meeting, colluding with,
putin in Helsinki, without check?

What can it be but treason's committed against the nation?

Then about these "value"s.

1st there is the walks talks looks like one it is .
These sorts of "values" are so far degraded from
any Conservative norm as to be unrecognizable.

Not conservative values/precepts,
often the antithesis of conservative.

All values, family, fiscal, ethical, professional, paternal, religious, and normal... come to grips with your hypocrisy.

the man just removed from the roles of our protection was one of the most versed in the true history
of the threats that have been brewing for decades. ^

**6 administrations,
holding down the fort against all threats & the Soviets (Ruskies whatever).
His input, his understanding & background was the real threat to Putin,
so,
it looks like there was a list of Americans to be removed
from places of power,
that was passed to our treasonous pussy grabber & thief, rip the government down, destroy democratic pillars
leave carnage in the wake.....

The schmuck is going to spend $$92 million to hold a parade. Thats like 4 times the 12 million,1st floated.
If that happens I think, we should worry that there
will be an all out attack on our military
maybe even an airstrike against the parade?

I imagine that few of us are in any sort of a position to have much insight as to whether retired, former government officials should retain security clearances.
I find the analysis in the following link persuasive regarding the reasoning for revoking Brennan's security clearance, namely, that Brennan is a "butthead" Sometimes the simplest explanation is the right one--no security clearances for buttheads seems like a pretty good rule.

Toker, there are those of us that lost their 401k’s due to the last Republican POTUS.

As there are plenty a story of riches in this country, from immigrants to old money.

I agree that real estate is the engine, just don’t f*#k it up ,again.

Resistance to this clusterphuck may sound like whines.

Hey gnome - Did you see kingtut's post?

Instead of acting like a whiny little crybaby, he answered my question.

Thanks Tut 👍

Regarding Brennan's situation, he brought it on himself... regularly trashing Trump. That doesn't justify Trump's action. But let's not pretend Brennan is without blame.

The market was already in a long expansion when Trump took office. He helped extend and boost it with the tax cut. The problem is much of that boost is from additional debt that will need to be paid back. It's one thing to boost the economy using debt in a recession, but to do it during an expansion is pretty short sighted IMO, but most people won't realize that, they'll just look at how things are now.

Things have started turning or at least leveling off (at least in real estate in lots of markets). It's probably time to start taking more defensive positions and stock piling cash to buy things at a discount when things drop. But of course this is all crystal ball territory.

I have empathy for people who don't have the capacity to do as well as I've done. Sure there's lot of people who don't invest who should, but many people are hand to mouth or aren't intelligent or educated enough to really get ahead. The economy should at least produce a living wage for them too. I'm not in favor of high taxes on the well off, but I am in favor of policies that help workers make a living wage and protect their rights. The more I learn about the tax code and the benefits available for investors the more I realize the tax burden is so much on the shoulders of the wage earners.

Why should anyone, no longer working for the government, be allowed to keep their security clearance?

Because those who work on sensitive issues sometimes appreciate, and need, the information and advice those who came before them can offer.
