That is precisely why you all are losing.
Humanity is losing because fukheads like you refuse to pull your heads out of your asses and LEARN the TRUTH. You'd rather cling desperately to the BELIEF that some make believe father figure in the sky will save you from your own wasteful, ignorant, selfish, short-sighted, rampant consumption and destruction of natural resources.
I'd say "we" are doing pretty good, considering Texas House Bill 788, which requires businesses to regulate green house gasses, was recently passed.

No, those aren't necessarily fukheads. Those individuals are part of humanity, struggling to survive... who will struggle even more with the rapid change in global climate caused by industrial and developing nations pouring green house gasses into the atmosphere, pollution into the water, etc.
The fukheads I'm talking about are idiots with little or no understanding of how the physical world works (science) who stand in the way of reasonable attempts to limit green house gas emissions and environmental pollution. Fukheads like you.

Good point The Chief. It takes energy to live at the "standard of living" we now have in many "first world" countries.
The problem is that our high living standard is killing us (and the other lifeforms on the planet).

haha, you seem to be obsessed with my recreational/volunteer work. Just to make sure you are up to speed, a successful RETAINING wall should RETAIN sediment and debris.
This year Utah has been experiencing significant flooding and debris flows. Here are a few pictures of the damage done to the trails, roads and culverts up Maple Canyon.
just up the drainage from my retaining wall
culvert along the main road in the upper campground
main road, lower campground. the debris extends about 200 yards down canyon.
And here are my RETAINING walls, RETAINING plenty of large rocks and debris.
And just to reiterate... you are a fuking idiot.

I do? Wow, that is news to me. The classes I have taught on sustainability have included at least 3 weeks of lectures covering economic considerations. I had a few economics majors in one of my classes who were very helpful. We had some good conversations. It was fun. You are a fuking idiot.

We pay about $14 a month for electricity. I have no problem with that doubling or even tripling as a result of a plan that forces coal burning plants to update their technology and/or reduce their emissions.

Actually, just checked... last month's electric bill was $10.53. It hit as high as $35 when I was running computer models constantly for weeks on end, using power tools to build sh#t, and the days were shorter.
I bet you could cut your electric bill at least in half if you pulled your head out of whatever dark hole you insist on keeping it wedged.
Lighting can account for about 1/4 of a typical household's energy costs. Do you "hate" LED lights because "environazis" use them?
Do you leave computers, TV's, chargers, etc plugged in or running when not in use?
Do you "hate" energy efficient appliances because liberal communist tree huggers want to force you to have gay sex with them?
Do you use an electric drier for your clothes?
