Yes he worked for ACORN.
He was their lawyer. He taught organizing classes
He brags about it in three autobiographies.
What's so hard to understand about that?

Obama represented ACORN in court on a voting rights case.
That would be working for ACORN.

What possible difference does it make in 2009 if Obama did
legal work on behalf of a law firm for ACORN years ago?
SO WHAT?
Was his work criminal in any way? No charges have been filed.
SO WHAT IF HE DID? WHO CARES?

What could possibly be wrong, criminal, against the law,
with teaching classes on organizing to anyone?
What is wrong with knowing how to organize, and what is wrong
with being paid by a law firm to teach organizations how to
organize?

In 1995, Mr. Obama was on a team of lawyers that represented Acorn in a lawsuit to compel Illinois to comply with federal laws intended to enhance access to the polls. The team also represented Equip for Equality, a group that promotes the rights of the disabled, and four individuals.
In fact, the Justice Department was on the same side as Acorn in the lawsuit, as were other organizations, including the League of Women Voters. Those plaintiffs won the case.
Mr. Davis urged reporters to question Mr. Obama about training sessions he had done for Acorn. “What were you teaching them?” Mr. Davis asked. “Were you teaching them how to evade the law?”
Lewis Goldberg, a spokesman for Acorn, said Mr. Obama conducted two leadership training sessions of roughly an hour each for Acorn’s Chicago affiliate over a three-year period in the late 1990s. He was not paid for that work, Mr. Goldberg said.
What a bunch of idiots...TGT, SUP and Corniss. He was never a paid employee of Acorn...another fecking lie by the extreme right wing He never "worked" for them.

Why are Republicans NOT in support of States Rights?
Why do Republicans drive up the Federal deficit?
Why do Republicans think big government can solve their problems?
Why don't the Republicans support individual responsibility?
Why can they ONLY get elected in bible belt states?

Because the Republican Party wants the United States to fail, the Republican Party has a vested interest in causing the United States to fail.
This perverse incentive can be seen working itself out in the way that Republican talking heads and thought leaders like Limbaugh and Gingrich bet against the United States, predicting our failure before all the facts are in.
Limbaugh in particular clearly savors the thought of American failure. He is the OFFICIAL leader of the Republican Party.
The Republican Party's leaders are irresponsible. Politics is supposed end at the water's edge. For Republicans like Limbaugh and Gingrich to go on the radio or television and demonstrate that they are hoping for a hostage rescue to fail so they can exploit that failure for political gain is a clear demonstration that the Republican Party and its leaders are unfit to serve as the leaders of our country.
All too often Republicans place party before country, and that simply isn't acceptable.

No Republican has ever spoken out against the ignorant, hateful
rhetoric of Limbaugh and the extreme right wing.
They all genuflect at the altar of Rush Limbaugh.
And they kiss the ass of the extreme right wing.
Dumbass birthers, anti science, evolution denying, pussies.
Why pussies?
Because Republicans cut and run like pussies when their "facts"
are challenged, like SHUTUP cuts and runs.
Like their "death panel" "facts". They just make up LIES.

Read Bob's post above.
1. Lawyers who represent people aren't complicit with them. It's a lawyer's job to represent someone, not just right people or innocent people. Point here is moot cause the justice department was on their side too.
2. Just because a few people in a grassroots organization can be set up or are corrupt does not make the whole she-bang a evil plot. If that were so, being a Republican would be just as evil and disreputable.
Peace

Fro the internet: Miami, Florida – February 20, 2006 ― Leaders from a diverse array of sectors will hold a rally in Miami on Thursday, February 23, 2006, in support of comprehensive immigration reform in an effort to keep immigration reform at the forefront of the public debate. Leaders from both political parties, immigrant communities, labor, business, and religious organizations will gather to call on Washington to enact workable reform.
The rally will feature Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) as the headline speaker along with elected officials, immigrants and key local and national leaders. Sen. McCain is one of the chief sponsors of the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act; bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform legislation introduced last Congress and scheduled for consideration by the Senate in the coming weeks. A similar rally with Sen. McCain is planned for New York City on February 27
The rally in Miami is being sponsored by the New American Opportunity campaign (NAOC) in partnership with ACORN, Catholic Legal Services - Archdiocese of Miami, Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center, Florida Immigrant Coalition, Miami Dade College, People for the American Way/Mi Familia Vota en Acción, Service Employees International Union, and UNITE HERE.
Looks like we got to go after John McCain, the catholic chruch....Joe Mccarthy would be proud.

When you say employee... do you mean... like in the... union type of employee?
Because, if so... Then I would have to say no.
No one in Acorn is unionized as far as I know.
They know better than to put up with that bullsh#t.
So, does anyone doubt that Obama turned off the anti-money laundering tools on his Campaign website on purpose?

John McCain supported ACORN.
SUCK ON THAT,
John McCain was not even born in any one of the 50 United States.
Caribou Barbie can see Russia from Alaska.
YOU voted to put Barbie one heartbeat from being Commander In Chief.
Republicans put party before country.
ANSWER MY QUESTION: What is wrong, illegal, with teaching organizing?

Pebbles, you are dumber than my hard on for you.
Go google "employee", we are NOT talking UNION here.
Obama was NOT an employee of ACORN. Do you get that yet?
Employee means you do what ACORN tells you to do and ACORN
is the name on your paycheck.
AGAIN, Obama was NOT employed by ACORN. Damn, you are stupid.
Now get over here before I lose it.

The GOP does not hope that America fails, but we know with certainty that the socialism put forth by Pelosi and Obama will direct us toward failure. There is a great rift in the GOP between us in the "grassroots" who yearn for balanced budgets, less intrusion (some regulation) and personal responsibility and some electeds who become institutionalized by lobbyists and power brokers.
Whenever I hear the word "certainty" I know what is certain is someone is camped on a concept, not a fact. One of the least convincing arguments going is that capitalism, as it is practiced or was practiced here over the last thirty years, is the way out of the present jam - which is the direct result of capitalism as it has been practiced here for the last thirty years.
http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/ideas/articles/2009/09/13/why_capitalism_fails/?p1=Well_MostPop_Emailed6
Like I said earlier, the melding of a new socialism with a highly regulated free market is the direction that reality will force us eventually - mark these words.
