I'm both amused and encouraged by the way this thread has evolved. More and more individuals have felt the heat and seen the light. The screeching of brain dead individuals seeing their whole world filled with Ivory Towers going up in flames is quite amusing. Their grasping for straws to support their views of the world is pathetic! Their views go down in flames as the world prepares to go up in flames...

Do you find it interesting that it's political and religious conservatives that are lighting the flames?

Jeeezus, Rodger, how is that rhetoric any different from that of a terrorist?

Susan-

No, it's only my observation.

Do I want the world in flames? Certainly not.

But the world has become a very unsafe place due to the arrogant ignorance of well-meaning liberals, incapable of seeing danger right before their own eyes.

BITD when I served in the military, the world was dangerous, but women and children weren't the soft targets that Islamic radicals choose as their targets. The Soviet Union had just erected the Berlin Wall, Kruschev had moved missiles into Cuba, and Viet Nam was beginning to flare into open combat. I could actually identify "the enemy," and not have him being a faceless terrorist with a suicide bomb.

A lot of suicide bombs went down in Vietnam, using children as well.

All right, I admit it: I am lost.

The last time our conservatives panicked like this (and blamed it all on fukingobama) we were supposed to fear the brown people because of Ebola. Let one of them into America and we were all goners for sure. But what actually happened?

President Obama refused to panic. He refused to rush-to-whereever-fear-led-him oh so fast and scared.

Real Americans don't panic about things like this.

Real Americans recognize that the world hasn't: "become a very unsafe place due to the arrogant ignorance of well-meaning liberals, incapable of seeing danger right before their own eyes." Instead, real Americans know that the world has always been a very unsafe place. They know that panicking in the face of every little danger is not effective. Real Americans (like our current president) keep their perspective and, critically, they don't overreact and they don't abandon real American values like generosity, fairness and respect for their fellow human beings.

HDDJ- Okay it's 2012, Harry up for reelection and the prez election uncertain in the NV battleground state. It's the end of Aug and I'm at the Reno DMV getting a computerized insurance verification snafu straightened out so I can re register my truck. Anyway both days there are huge lines in a Spanish speaking only line for state i.d. cards. Outside the banks of double doors are 4 dem voter registrars signing up the new state i.d. recipients. They didn't even bother to query me. So you tell me; were everyone of these non English speakers legal, naturalized, voters?

I eagerly await you're bigoted and snarky response.

Yeah, right. Somebody forgot to mention that to Calley and Medina.

Real Americans have worn Army or Marine Corps Green, or Navy and Air Force Blue while putting their azzes on the line for the others in this country. Those of us who HAVE done so tend to resent the sniping comments posted by those who haven't.

And how much Crack did you smoke this morning upon awakening, Brown?

The correct answer would be none.

So, the great diviner has divined that whatever ISIS says is true, eh?

I know you shoot yourself in the foot frequently, but have you been sticking a pistol in your mouth now? Don't forget, if you have some bullets in there and pull the trigger it's going to be costly.

So what exactly does that make the other 93% of citizens in this country?

It's certainly true that many, many real Americans have done just that. Out of necessity. And thanks be to them for their service.

But if you're suggesting that anyone who's worn a U.S. military uniform is automatically raised to some super level of citizen patriot, then I disagree.

Veterans are humans, and as with all humans, some are fallible. Timothy McVeigh would probably agree.

And Real Americans have gone to jail rather than blindly follow orders of more morally challenged leaders.

Fortunately, there have been and still are Real Americans in uniform who don't blindly follow illegal orders. Real Americans like Hugh Thompson, Glenn Andreotta and Lawrence Colburn.

In March 1998, the helicopter crew's medals were replaced by the Soldier's Medal, "the highest the U.S. Army can award for bravery not involving direct conflict with the enemy".

I disagree, they were in direct conflict with enemies of America: Medina and Calley.

So in the last couple of days we've seen:

1. A woman blew herself up.  Our President, is telling us, we can feel all warm and fuzzy about the refugees cuz there's a high percentage of women.

2. This "ringleader" is in fact, a well known terrorist.  I vaguely remember the video myself from over a year ago.  Pretty ugly.  So he was able to come back to France and hang out pretty much in the open.

This isn't over, by a long shot. Meanwhile, people like our President, walk further and further out on the limb with the sawing sounds getting even louder. Such an absence of basic intelligence it's hard to take anything they say seriously at all.

that is correct, except for the warm and fuzzy misperception, that the majority of the
refugees are woman, and also children, and also men

meanwhile France, the country that was just attacked, is also smart enough to know this and pretend to be not as dumb as the knee jerkers, and says it will take 30,000
refugees

the US is considering taking a paltry 10K by comparison

scared now?

this current crop of migrants we're getting rammed up our a$$.

Seriously, you should be ashamed of yourself for making a statement like this. They are refugees from a civil war, human beings.

So, Tami, as I said yesterday my extremely autistic niece in Barrie is so
happy that Justin has found the money to bring 25,000 dole-ready immigrants
in while she is basically ignored. She's now 21 and the government has
ended the little help they used to provide her parents. I guess they figure
she can hoof it on her own now, even though she can't talk, etc. Maybe she
can go stay with some of the immigrants since her parents are totally
exhausted financially and emotionally.
