Anyone elses weight range 4 lbs day to day?
I'll drop was many as 6-7 pounds of water sometimes, but the most "real" weight change I recall seeing is 2 lbs.
We've bumped into 4 rattlers in the last few weeks, an adult, and 3 babies (1 dead). The big one got my heart racing.
EDIT:
As I thought about it, it must always be the water. It takes an excess or decrease of 3500 calories outside of basal metabolism to gain or lose one pound. That's either a tremendous amount of eating or exercise for 2, 3 or 4 pounds in a day.

I walked to the climbing gym and did crappy laps on easy routes for 1/2 hour until I was exhausted. Man oh man did I let myself get out of shape these last few years.
It wasn't even climbing exercise. This was purely aerobic since my heart had more of a workout than any other part of me.

Gee, I gotta get checked in on this thread, great idea. Jaybro, 75 miles in one week? I'd be doing great if I could log that in a month! Back in my marathon running days, I'd get that easy, but that was 30+ years ago. ;-)
Does having a 3, 6 and 8 year old and taking care of them pretty much full time count as an aerobic workout? No need to answer, rhetorical question.

Yup, I've seen that for meself, but it's usually in the 2 lb. range. Most interesting, is that I weigh myself before and after a shower in the morning. 98% of the time I lose a half to a whole pound on the after weigh. This has been going on for years and with different scales. Can't explain and am not complaining. And no, to the peanut gallery, even if I could produce them in necessary quantities, none of the standard bodily fluids are involved. Har har!

New phase of weight training - and my glutes are screaming. This is making the runs more difficult. Nevertheless, got in 31 miles of running, 2 work-outs, and two days teaching skiing last week. One more day of ski instruction to go and longer daylight hours mean I can ski and run in the same day - soon, theoretically. Great work-out retrieving mittens that one client dropped on a trail.
I will take my randonee gear to Whistler in two weeks and spend one morning skinning up to wherever my hubby takes our geusts for breakfast. Looking forward to being a tad nervous on gnarlier terrain. Vacation is always a time when at least one big killer day can be planned.

OK, y'all, you truly inspired me. Just went out and ran about 5K in my neighborhood. I'm at the base of the San Gabriels (SoCal) so the first mile or so climbs about 500 feet give or take.
I have a superb once a week yoga class that I never miss, but this is the year I'm going to be able to do more backcountry trips, so now's the time to get crackin'!

@wheeler-dealers:
If you start to max out on wheel repetitions, what fatigues? For me, it's triceps, which seems kinda strange.

I did 175 wheels in 1 set 4 weeks back and the next set my right shoulder was hurting. It has been hurting for the first 10 or so reps every set since. Yesterday was my last set because I went back to work today. I was on a mission till I got a job to average 300+ a day. Oh yea, 30 miles+ a week on the Stairmaster during the same period. I just wanted to keep in shape and I kinda got a little carried away. Triceps got bigger.

I think this is like my 'sober' thread.......started doing 3 mile runs. Bumped to 4-5 and then 7,8 15 etc....... I'm no super athlete. Sometimes a good run partner helps. Everyone can do it. I used to show at the crag wanting to lead a 10a evry time years back, now it's 11a !!!! Viva aerobisizing!!!

Amazing how far you can run when there's plenty to look at.
Amen.
Does anybody do anything for flexibility?
@Fletcher - which yoga? I was informed by the class instructor that I needed it - and I have to agree.

I have a loosely yoga based stretching routine that I do several
Mornings a week (usually) that has evolved from the routines found in 'The Complete Illustrated book of yoga" orange paperback edition. I've been working on this progression since the early 70's. One iteration of this routine is an (lustrated) article I wrote in Rock and Ice 15 (July/Aug 86), I'm still working the bugs out...

I do a stretching routine before and after my workout. That is a big thing for me. Only 2 days on the new job and they transferred a bunch of us to night shift.
So.... back in the gym. 5.2 miles on the Stairmaster this morning. Life is good,
