Obama has a problem with accepting responsibility. He always defers it away to others.

This is not leadership. It is dictatorship.

If you can't see that, we are doomed.

We've had Republican administrations for 28 of the last 43 years, in which time the middle class has been slowly sinking, the working class has been crushed while our industrial and manufacturing base as been annihilated.

And you guys think the Republicans will save us?

"She has more executive experience than Obama. Are you saying that Obama is actually governing better than what Bachman proposes?"

Goddamit, bluering, knock that sh#t off.

You know damn well Bachmann is a whacknut who isn't fit for the job. The question isn't whether she's more qualified than Obama...the question is whether she can do the job or not!

If, by some unfortunate (yet typical) chance of politics, Bachmann becomes the candidate, then it becomes reasonable to support her, if only because she's your only real choice. (Sorry about that.) Try to at least have the honesty to be able to say the reason you vote for her is because that shitpile tastes better than the current shitpile. At least your integrity will remain intact.

On second thought, better get defensive.

If I remember correctly, your business benefitted mightily from the dot.com boom that occurred during the Clinton years. Now, to be sure, some of the foundations for that economic boom were established by previous (Repub) administrations, but if I can make that concession, then you (and fattrad) should be able to concede that Clinton's economic policies at the very least encouraged and cultivated that economy.

One of the cornerstones of that economy was a tax structure that is far different from today's. Say what you might, but the fact is the economy thrived under that structure, and a whooooole lot of people did quite well. As a matter of fact, it generated a record-breaking surplus. How in the world can one argue that that was a bad thing, especially when the following administration turned it around 180 degrees into record-breaking deficits?

Yes, we should return to Ike's 91% top tax rate. That is GOP policy I can support.

is the reason you don't respond because you really don't have an answer to what I say? Is it because you don't know what you are talking about?

Nah, probably because you spout demonstrably false talking points and come across as dumb-as-a-stump and constitutionally incapable of detailed, rational discussion.

For example, you just posted some ranting hair on fire screed about how top rates need to come down and how someone "got their ass handed to them" due to Obama supporting lowering the top tax rate...a position that is in any factual analysis completely wrong. The last time the President directly addressed this issue, afaik, was the speech from April this year where his position was:

"allow Bush-era tax cuts to expire for individuals making $200,000 or more a year and couples making $250,000 or more".

But please, keep up the sputtering impotent rage act, it suits you.

The President is a compromising pragmatist. What he favors and supports, vs. what can pass through a GOP controlled House of Reps to reach his desk for signature are two different things. Thankfully, this President deals with realities, rather than the opposition party which is firmly encamped in some candy-shitting unicorn land of make-believe where up is down.

I pray for a Bachmann nomination. It will provide a Goldwater worthy repudiation in the general and might, MIGHT, clue in the rest of the party that you're WAY off the rails. Then again, I think the true believer morons are essentially in control of the party at this point, so a course-correction isn't likley. In that case, the GOP will become nothing more than an anarchronism and dwindling regional party in the next decade.
