Do any of you smart guys know of a way to reverse the climate change?
If not, we're better off directing our resources toward dealing with the consequences of a changing climate.
Either way, it needs to be done quickly.
Me, I'd like it if it were warmer around here. Maybe my avocados wouldn't freeze so often.

So what do you do, Monolith? Reverse it? Or adjust to it?
We have to choose, and we need to do it quickly.

You do what you can, Chaz. If reducing the growth of CO2 emissions now will reduce the potential impact in the future, then that sounds like a reasonable thing to do.
Why do you make it a choice of one or the other?

^^And you are certain there won't be severe impacts? Do ya mind if we study the problem?^^
If we can keep man from causing the next worldwide catastrophe, we should try.
If nature wants to cause one in a few million years, fine.

So Ron, you don't accept the simple fact that humans are warming the planet?
Why?

I'm sure all your John Bircher, black-helicopter fearing, jackalope stuffing buddies find that hilarious.

Good one, Ron!
Reminds me of the bible belt tea-bagger Foxbot who spent his life eating junk food and swilling beer, ending up morbidly obese. One day he found himself out of work because his boss was downsizing and there was no union to protect the workers' interests.
Guy gets all depressed and ends up having a heart attack. Goes to the hospital to get treated, but finds out that his health insurance has denied his claim based on a pre-existing condition (obesity). Too bad he pushed so hard to get affordable healthcare reversed. He might've lived.

This thread needs a bump so here is my mini-rant on the subject:
I have seen global warming with my own eyes in the mountains throughout my life. It is clear to me. How others refuse to see it, I cannot duplicate.
However, I strongly disagree with cap & trade. It is not a good solution because it does not go far enough. Companies buying the right to pollute is insane.
We need to find a way to make transportation and products that do not pollute. We need to work together globally to live clean and sustainably even with a population of tens of billions.
If you remove the human global warming factors, geologists tell us the next Ice Age is not due for another 50,000 years, so things could get warmer anyway.
Live clean or die.

whats up Spider?
Say you do an experiment to prove global warming to us all.
Place 2 regular ice cubes out in the sun. Sprinkle black soot from your
fireplace on top one of them. Now the one with the soot will melt faster
thus proving the atmosphere has gotten warmer due to all the extra CO2 in
it.
It that logical?
or

Although I think pollution falling onto glaciers is the sole cause of
accelerated melting. Not a secondary as the writers of this article has
to include to appease the jack booted global warmists.

The Chief and Burchy highjacking another thread with irrelevant ice climbing discussions...how useful. So how do you like those tools compared to BD Cobras? Seems like Cobras could do everything from hard ice to mixed to alpine. And are light...

What's wrong Bruce? Are you a little bored in your flood plain trailer park? Wander next door, your tweaker neighbors are probably "cooking".
Just a controlled leak draft to gauge public sentiment. Yawn.
