Hello Faith, Bobby and Anne!
I want you to know how much you are a part of our daily lives here in Lander. Tonight, the request at bedtime was the much loved story of Stumpy Model. When I told Jake that my throat was too sore for a story, he said it was OK - he would tell the story! He did a fine job. He hit all the major points, had the timing down, waited for the laugh. . .he's turning into quite the story-teller. The kids never fail to ask how you are doing and are excited to hear that you all are heading back west soon. I spent the day packing up the last of Todd's office - and found lots of notes, postcards, and, of course, photos from you, Bobby. It was a wonderful reminder of how fortunate we are to have friends like you watching out for us. I trust you'll keep up the good, hard work and come back to us soon so that we can continue to live stories that Jakey-boy can add to his list of favorites.
Our love to you,
Amy, Hannah, Sarah and Jake

Hello, all. I am happy to report that I visited Bobby at Mount Sinai on Saturday morning the 29th. Luckily for me, Faith showed up just as visiting hours were about to start. I may have had trouble getting in to see Bobby without her, since he was still in the ICU as a consequence of his surgery on Thursday, and visitations were being severely limited. Faith has already reported on the success of the surgery, so I won't repeat what she told me. Bobby was still sedated and resting peacefully when I stood nearby, and from what I could determine from looking at the blinking monitors, his vital signs (blood pressure, pulse respiration, etc.) looked great. (I wish my blood pressure was that low!) Faith is a pillar of strength and very chipper and optimistic. The latest news is that Bobby may be moved to Colorado within the next week or ten days in order to be housed in a rehabilitation facility where he will start on the long road back to what we hope is full recovery. He continues to remain in the thoughts and prayers of everyone in our family.

Model Crew,
I have been up in Cody and Powell dealing with a family emergency and haven't been able to get on the net to read about how you are doing, Bobby, but as always you are in my heart and prayers. I was so excited to hear how well you are doing and that you will be coming to CO soon. All of you guys are so strong and as I read this Forum you are so blessed with wonderful friends. Take care and have a safe trip west. I hope I can come see all of you when you get to Co. Love ya, Brenda

Here's the latest from Ms. Faith, October 2:
Dear All,
I hope this email finds everyone well and enjoying October, thus far.
This is just a quick note to let you know that it doesn't look like we'll be going to Denver this week as they noticed a small post-op collection of fluid underneath Bobby's skull that they want to monitor and if need be remove. This is really not uncommon and they just want to ensure that the
fluid dynamics in his brain are as should be.
Many many thanks again and I'll keep you all posted as plans evolve.
With love,
Faith

Hi Faith
Mislaid your email address but have been keeping tabs on Bobster's progress and am not at all surprised by his continuing improvement. Just wish I was there to see it! Please tell him that he remains in my thoughts and prayers and that I speak of him often. What an amazing fighter he is.
Summer is on the way after a long wet winter and we are all starting to thaw a little. I'm not working in the ICU anymore - needed a break but am missing the patient contact so will rethink in the new year.
With special love to you and the Bobster. Please also send a big hug to Mariella when you speak to her.
With lots of love

Hi everyone,
I know that we are all rooting like mad for Bobby, and in our minds he is a rockstar, the one we just KNOW is going to make it through this with flying colours. You may have noticed from Faith's last email that there is just a small complication that is impeding his westward journey, which basically is the last hurdle he needs to overcome before he can get back to his beloved mountains. So, I was just thinking that maybe, just maybe, we can all do something extra for Bobby, provide, if you will, the last push that is going to get him over the hump. Maybe Molly will set up another one of those awesome moments when we all get together and all think of him at the same time (hint, hint, Molly), but maybe there is also more we can all do individually, to send him the love, the energy, the prayers that we know he needs. Faith has told us time and again that Bobby can feel it when we are there for him so, with the utmost kindness and respect I ask you to join me in the latest blitz for Bob-Meister. Whatever form your gesture takes, it will make a difference and I think we will benefit from knowing what others are doing. I'll let you all know what I have come up with and am looking forward to hearing from others.
Come on, friends, we can do this! For Bobby and his loved ones, let's do this.
With warm feelings,
Charlotte

Good idea Charlotte, thanks for that.
One thing I can do today is organize a liquid toast to Bobby at a happy hour with NG photographers this eve at 5:30 EST If anyone would like to raise a glass at that hour feel free (whether it is alcoholic in nature or just a glass of water!)
Reza, a photographer who Bobby admires, will be there tonight and I'll tell you this man is possessed by some amazing spirtual energy--you feel it immediately when you meet him. So I'll have Reza lead the toast for you tonight, B! Also here is a note, ver batim, that Reza sent me upon just learning of your accident in late August (he'd been traveling for months)
much love,
your friend Liz
"OHHHH ....
I have not heard about this very sad news before .
We were sitting together in the Emerging explorers symposium and he was so enthusiast about his work , later we spend longtime together talking about his future work .
I still remember how proud he was being part on NG familly ..-like all of us -
This news make me again think of the same case that happened to Alexandra Boulat photographer who went in coma in west bank ...
The most important thing that I believe we could do is to comfort their families, friends and be with them in any possible way, and look after any need they have .
Dear Liz could you please find out how we could send our support -even a mail- to his family and his close friends ??
I am currently in Kabul for Aina projects , and feel how the life and death are always together .
warmest regards
Reza"

To all the amazing people of the Bobby Model support group -
How about a group prayer for Bobby this Thursday at 6:30 pm MST followed by another on Saturday at 3 pm MST. I would like to request that we work with the shared intention (going out to the deity of your personal persuasion) that focuses strongly on Bobby's full and swift return to a conscious, wakeful, and aware state.
Everyone has done such an amazing job of reminding Bobby, and all of us, of the true beauty and wonder of this world and the simple truth that friendship, love, and family really do mean everything. Please continue to send forth these reminders to Bobby and his family in your thoughts and prayers. I was able to spend time with him in August and I too can attest to his unwavering strength and the powerful effect of the love and care being shown to him in so many ways. It would be great if you would all join me in this "welcome back" prayer/party in the ether.
take good care,
Molly

Hey Bobby,
Well, I am thinking of you today. I just wanted to fill you in on the progress of the building upgrade. They have dug the holes for the "pillars" and cut the windows into the south side of the building. Construction is taking place on the inside to get offices done where Barron and I will be moving into. The front will be started on here pretty soon. We have ordered the new windows and are just waiting for them to come in. There are a lot of decisions to be made on cabnetry and counter tops and paint and the list goes on and on. It will be a great looking building. I can't wait to have my own spot again.
The weather has been cold in the early hours of the morning. It warms up during the day, but I am sure it won't last much longer. The trees are beautiful!! Fall is one of my most favorite times. The colors and the weather cool down are all a welcome change.
We are all here reading and waiting for you to get to Denver. I think that being in "your" mountains again will do some good. It will be nice having you closer to home.
Tell your mom that I said "Hi" and that I miss her. She always brings a smile to my face. You are a lucky man to have such a wonderful family.
Take care and heal well my friend,
Janet

Hi everyone,
Just swung by New York yesterday and I had a chance to go check on the Bob-Meister so I wanted to fill you all in on the latest. First off, Bobby looks GOOD: the surgery was apparently very successful and he now looks much more like his old self. His head looks completely fine, both his eyes are open when he is awake and he looks very peaceful. He is still in the ICU, but you wouldn't really know it because his room looks AWESOME: there are prayer flags, crystals, lots and lots of photographs, the iPod is playing in the background, Faith constantly uses all kinds of stuff that smells really good, and Bobby just looks really content. I think Faith has already told you how awesome the staff there are and it's true that they are not only super competent, but also ever so nice. Everyone when they come in call out his name (no more "Mr Model" thankfully!) and really try and engage him. I saw him pretty late in the evening so he was probably a little sleepy but I sat with him for a while, tried to lock eyes with him, talked to him constantly, and I definitely felt him squeeze my hand back on a couple of occasions. Faith and Anne were there, paying constant attention to him, and you really do get the sense that he knows it, feels it, and draws strength from it all. It's really no wonder Bobby has done so well so far.
Molly, thanks very much for organizing the meeting of the minds, in which I will enthusiastically participate, and I would like to add one thing on which we can maybe all focus. The previous problem is now pretty much resolved - thanks in great part, I'm sure to everyone's awesome thoughts and prayers - but Bobby is still fighting an infection. Soooo, come on friends, this is what we need to focus on, lots of love, thoughts, prayers and energy to help Bobby fight and overcome that one. I know everyone is anxious for Bobby and his family to get back to Denver so he needs all the help he can get here.
I'm now off to Africa for the next three months so I will rely on all of you who will see Bobby soon to keep me appraised of his progress. I will, however, be participating in all group thoughts/prayers, and will even get up in the middle of the night if I need to.
Best to all,
Charlotte

Hey Bobby! Just wanted to drop a note and say your buddies here in fabulous Las Vegas haven't forgot about you for even one minute. Chris Mees, myself and Tim Acker all want to send you our very best and let you know that we are here for you through Hell and/or high water, but no peaks over 14,000ft. That’s your domain. We are looking forward to having you in Denver. I live right by Red Rock Canyon, which I'm sure you've climbed a bunch of times. Every morning on my way to work I pass by them when the sun is coming up and flooding them with beautiful red light and I yell your name, some expletives’ and/or something stupid while listing to some of that horrible techno you love so much. You are so funny when you are pumping yourself up. Truly hilarious. Get better my friend and know that we are all here for you.
Your pal, Lyon

Here's is today's news from Faith 10/11.
AND...vibrant group prayer tonight at 6:30 MST...JOIN IN & SEND LOVE AND HEALING...
xoxo - Molly
Dear All,
Apologies for the sparse updates of late, but time has a way of escaping my notice.
At any rate, many thanks again and always for the consistent and uplifting support in all the numerous way you all have given it! We are ever grateful and I know Bobby absolutely feels it.
The good news is that Bobby's recent CT scan showed great improvement in the fluid collection I wrote about earlier. He is reabsorbing it on his own and at this point, there is no need for additional surgery to drain the fluid. Very positive news! Bobby was really perking up last weekend, but recently
came down with a mild pneumonia and he's currently resting and recovering. BUT, the infection has definitely subsided and he has been able to beat this much faster than in the past. Really, he just needs to start moving again...and he will soon enough. We're still on track for Denver as soon as Bobby
has fully recovered. If all goes well, this could be within the next couple of weeks, but of course it's hard to say definitively. We will keep you all posted when we know more!
Wishing everyone all the best!
Love and thanks,
Faith
