Wow Dave! That is some shirt. I think I owned one like it in the 80s. Now I only wear black (well, and dark blue when I have to). I have entered my Goth phase (well, except that I am always happy).
When are you 2 going to take us up to Holcomb and show us around? I promise to leave that other guy at home.

Nef,
I am often trying to get my partners to wear brighter colors as well. Some of them are accommodating and some couldn't care less until they see the slides and realize that it does make a huge difference in the photos. Earthy tones are great for diner with friends but not for photography. Sheesh, it's almost like they care more about the climbing than the pictures.
I find that helmets are another pain in the ass for climbing photos. They're usually white or red and neither is a great choice for the desert as red blends in and white blows out. Obviously no helmut is the best option for photos... to bad it's the worst option for desert towers.
Glad to know it's not just me badgering my friends about their clothing.

I can't believe that this, sometimes cynical, bunch posted up 700 times on this thread. I would have considered 70 a success.
NICE!

Crimpie--Locker's trying to dog us with his "way old non-climbers" thread. Might need to go delete posts out of it...;-)

As Piqua pointed out, the pic is on top of standing rock, certainly one of the more entertaining desert towers around. A good buddy and I spent a fall weekend doing Washerwaoman, Monster Tower and Standing Rock. A very good use of a couple days.
Brad, I'm more of a lurker unless I think I have something to add that's somehow been missed by all the erudite scholars that post to ST. I certainly will never forget our little meeting on sunflower tower and our slightly different approaches to analyzing crack difficulties. What a riot. The blond just got married, not to me, sigh, but she's still good fun.
I realize the pic doesn't quite show my face well enough to recognize me, so here is a shot that will not fail in that catagory. This one is at the first belay on Washerwoaman.

Those kind of pins are bomber (usually) they're pretty common on Utah sandstone routes.

The pin looks fine, some of that webbing looks a little suspect. Route looks great though!

The fluff factor is very low on this thread. So many posts with good pics and/or comments.
Now where's that JohnX01?
This thread needs his special brand of humor or it will not seem complete.

i thought the scariest thing about washerwoman, hands down, was the last rappel -- i had loose rocks raining down around me the entire time. and lowering off the edge on the second rappel was pretty sporty, too...those anchors are set, like, two feet off the edge...gotta lean way over and down just to clip 'em! gotta love desert towers. each and every one has a little "survival" moment built in, 'specially if you only do one once every few years. but those drilled angles are plenty bomber imo.

In an effort to keep the photos coming, here's a couple of shots sent to me by my son Owen, who just wrapped up his first season working for Mica Heli Guides north of Revelstoke
Here's the kid ready for another hard day at the office.
Here's the office
When he finished they still had about 5 m. of settled snow. For a young dude, he's way smarter than his old man, who only gets to the mountains a few weeks a year.
