Can't believe that someone who has grown up in the same generation as me has learned nothing from it other than what can benefit himself in a materialistic way..

Gary, many of these people felt they were owed something. They never tried bettering themselves.
Have to disagree there, 10b. These people were doing fine. Working hard at jobs that paid well enough to buy a modest home and send the kid to school. Then Wall Street decided they needed a bigger cut. They got that doddering old fool Ronald Reagan to say what people wanted to hear. Got people worked up over things that don't really matter, and once they got their Republican stooges in power the prosperity of the New Deal was dead in the water.
Republicans excel at propaganda. Goebbels was an amateur in comparison.
But as a Republican president said, you can fool some of the people some of the time...
We just need some politicians who are ready to tell it as it is, and it sure ain't Clinton and the Democrats.

Why is it completely appropriate for "those people" to have felt mad as hell for being left behind, taken advantage of, seemingly forgotten, who "those people" would have told people of color to suck it up, move to a better place, or that they have nobody but themselves to blame in this land of opportunity - just like their parents have told them for decades past?
What is different THIS time, besides the color of the skin of the ones on the outside looking in?
There ARE plenty of young white males who have found a way in this economy. I well remember the late 1970's, when factories were closing, and at the same time family farming was being rubbed out by mega-ag. The wake-up for my generation. It was scary, listening to men who'd worked years in one place, being laid off and no nearby factory hiring. They were angry.
They felt entitled.

Voting Trump in was a backlash. There was no other option. What was Hillary Clinton going to do different from the past? Nothing.
It's true, all racists are Trump voters, but not all Trump voters are racists. But y'all keep dividing people, your corporate masters love that.

Yep. Poverty for minorities is always the fault of minorities having no ambition. Poverty for whites is always the fault of minorities taking the jobs (the same jobs the whites consider themselves to be above). I fit the dump demographic pretty well... in fact the majority of my close relatives likely voted for the POS. Many are unemployed or work crap jobs... entirely their fault... they took the ARM loans for the house way out of their range. I had the same choices to make, I lived modestly, I'm fine financially.
And voting for Dump becausr Wall Street screwed the economy is dumber than f*#king stupid.

I got a Fox news fix last week. The talking heads on "Outnumbered" were clucking about how much we need a wall in Tijuana. Duh Fox News fans! There is not one, but two border walls in Tijuana.
In the early 1990's U.S. authorities, responding to the chaos and open flouting of the law at the border, built a wall—followed by another over the next decade. The first, made of Vietnam War-era steel landing pads, begins in the waves of the Pacific Ocean and stretches east for 14 miles along hilly terrain that sidles against a string of working-class neighborhoods, the Tijuana airport and the Otay Mesa factory zone, stopping only when it meets the mountain known as Nido de las Águilas (Eagles’ Nest), on Tijuana’s eastern edge.
The second, parallel barrier, made of fencing and prison-like stanchions, spans several miles east and west on either side of the legal crossing point at San Ysidro. Along with these structures came additional surveillance such as buried sensors and poles with cameras peering in every direction.
Trump & his, scared of refugees, supporters & minions want to build a wall that would cost at least 18 billion dollars along the 2,000 miles of Mexican border.
Of course they manage to ignore 700 miles of wall and fencing that already exist in the places where walls & fences could do the most good.

It is rather peculiar that Fox News does not hire an army of investigative reporters and counter these photo ops with actual proof of such media atrocities.
Maybe because they are owned by a cheap ,right wing ,foreigner, that would rather rely on internet pawns.
You know ,actual proof against these liberal media outlets.
We would then have at least 3% of the media giving us the true facts.
Kind of like climate change denial.

How very, very, very scary those folks wanting across our very-well secured Tijuana border must be to you & Donald's other skeeerd minions.
I'm curious if you bothered to read the article I linked to, which actually was somewhat favorable towards the Tijuana border wall?
