fattrad, why are you so concerned about illegals getting insurance? You know very well that the corporate paymasters of the GOP LOVE illegal immigrants. One more tool they get to use to keep us under their thumbs.

What worries the GOP is that Obama wants to concentrate resources on busting those who hire illegals. And it's about time.

Point One: Pelosi can say anything she wants but she does not
have final sayso over a bill being passed.
A review of basic civics shows that all three branches of government have to sign off on a bill.
Therefore, no one should care what any single legislator wants.

Second: Federal dollars should pay for abortions.
It's a lot cheaper to prevent a birth than to pay for lifetime
healthcare, social security, unemployment, and medicare.
No self respecting "fiscal" Republican should oppose abortion.

Therefore, Fatty is not a fiscal conservative.

Jeff, sorry buddy, it is YOU who needs a civics lesson.

WHY?

Because the Judicial branch does NOT legislate law.
Even a grade schooler knows that. Go ahead, look it up.

Your comment makes no sense at all.

It's ok to be pro choice Jeff, but really, you should also be strongly
Federally financed pro abortion. Your Federal tax dollars go to pay for the lifetime
care of unwanted, unproductive, "citizens".

And Jeff, "illegals" should especially be allowed Federally
funded abortions, on demand, because they are much more likely
to use taxpayer dollars than to actually pay taxes.
Any good conservative knows this, and should support abortion.

But, you need a civics lesson, the Judaical branch does not write, sign or fund bills.

So! The truth comes out! But shouldn't it be Judaic?

Conservatives and I agree, gays should not have abortions.

This is against God's law. Go ahead, you can look it up.

I'm surprised the Republicans aren't in favor of real death panels. If Rove and Cheney were "reforming" healthcare I'm sure they would.

Only the poorest grandmas and grandpas would be eliminated, and this would surely reduce the Democratic voter base. Huge savings to Social Security could be realized, leaving more to spend on F-22s.

Then the Republicans could go after the food stamp program and say they're doing it to "help the poor help themselves"--by requiring death panels convert their end product into edible green wafers.

Senior citizens are socialists. They get SS and Medicare.

The Disabled are socialists, they get a government check.

All Federal employees are socialists, they get a government check.

Teachers, law enforcement officers, and Firemen are socialists.

Any one who is not self employed is a socialist, maybe a communist.

Joe McCarthy was a socialist.

Ronald Reagan was head of a union, therefore he was a socialist.

Norton,

Any experienced lawyer will tell you that all three branches of government engage in legislative action. Courts make laws all the time. So do bureaucrats. The legislature is simply the only branch of the federal government that both makes laws and stands for election. (Well, OK, so does the president, but even the president has little control over the civil-service-protected bureaucrats who more directly control so much of our lives.)

Death panels already exist.

Insurance companies already have committees that decide what treatments to approve.

What's in the bill is so much more benign than that, it doesn't even deserve mention in the same post.

Apparently, Joe Wilson is a Socialist too. Wilson "has enjoyed multiple generations of free military medical coverage, known as TRICARE."

From this Newsweek post.

I'm tired of people with full coverage, many of whom have it paid for by taxpayers, trying to destroy everyone else's opportunity for affordable health care.

Tricare isn't an anymore "free" healthcare than a package paid for by an employer.

Just part of an employment benefits package.

No different.

Some lucky bidder could have dinner with Sarah Palin or lunch with Karl Rove--barf bags not included.
