The Soap Falls
(This isn't what it sounds like, I hope)
Soloing up the soap falls
Stepping from soap pocket to pocket
The French clown with the skeleton choppers
Climbs behind and tries to bite me
This throw back climber and Caribbean pirate
Chattering his choppers at my heels
He threatens with his cries
"Come down, come down, you deed not pay!"
With the sound of his chattering skeleton teeth
This angry French clown is after me today
With greasy long grey hair
And purple paisley bandanas and scarf
Flowing on behind
He threatens to bite me with his skeleton teeth
Because I did not pay
To climb his soapy stair case falls
His soapy stair case to the sky

The Electoral College Must Go.
The United States is the only country to have an electoral college that directly elects the executive president.
In most countries, there is an "Electoral College" that elects the ceremonial head of state. Most of the time this "electoral college" is the national legislature.
Vatican City technically uses an Electoral College to elect their leader, the Pope.
Historically, Electoral Colleges were used to elect the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, President of Finland (1919-1987), and the First President of the French Fifth Republic (Charles De Gaulle).
So much for their popularity and effectiveness in today's society.
The popular vote failed to elect the US President in the 2000 presidential election for the first time in election history. It created a vast distrust of the executive office in this country, a backlash that is still affection the electoral process.
The system needs to be cleansed and the purge must be complete, too.
There needs to be changes in the timeline of the election day itself. My suggestion is to have Alaska and Hawaii vote the day PRIOR to election day, then proceed the next morning with Maine and the rest moving with the sun.
These two states votes should be made known at the close of their polls on their election day. The populations of both states are small compared to others and there is no reason to deny them knowledge of their election results nor to prevent the rest of us from knowing them.
It would be lots more exciting having the philosophy of "One man, one vote" instead of a college of electors.
I would hope this would foster an awareness of how important it is that as many citizens vote in the election as possible.
I'm getting disgusted seeing such low numbers come to the polls under this system. Something's not right, it needs fixing.
Let's do it before we all die.
A voice crying in the wilderness, but I had to say it.

The Soap Falls Route
A froth of suds
A couple of puds
What's not to like?
A couple of studs
Hauling Milk Duds
On the old Ivory Tower 'hike'
With its objective danger
A 'curious' park ranger
Who you with his teeth he may strike.
But you've a surprise
And reveal to his eyes
Your partner, who is a dyke!
Woot!

Careful,
what the small rock?
Translation
as re treat to the private when leaning in,
it takes a village
And there is nothing really wrong with that,
if you add the word 'neither'
It seems more judgmental than the addition of the 'really'
And There is nothing wrong with that , neither

Okay, so I really do like "Not Palm Tree In Shilloette" with all the hues of pinks 'n oranges pulling into inky blackness,
Da JA vou where am I ?
Have you noticed 5 mentions of LSD, in threads some at random,
Completely out of the blue. It may have been , aw who was it? On the Donini alpine rule # 1
Someone said ... And a sheet of blotter scotch a fat bag of weed ...
And another, on the gilled FLOPPER's thread ..." If you bought the dancin' bear blotter from some surfer dudes ....
If it had been an episode that was not '78 Cal Jam, I woulda said if you were drippin' N' dropin'
Wrist reservoirs, -I'd of said if you replenished at a yellow 300 diesel kruatcar . . .
There were a couple others, I'm still laughing ....
This place juxtaposed to the children on the other site, Is so striking, it fits my schit zooid sense of humor .
As long as I don't get confused and answer here when I meant to post there,
Or, 'nd Dog forbid,
I post my reply to the flames to a reject dataphaux thread.
Like how hard is a climb that is 5.6 ?
a classic rock climb; Shockley's Ceiling.
A 5.3-5.6 put up in 1953, as a free climb with the easy variation, Also led by the original FA team.
It seems as though the it is all up for grabs, Re-name the cliff, bolt whatever you want,
Act like the only thing that matters is you. Make it all as fixed 'pre-climbed I'd call it,
the Doubt, mental challenge is lessened by the presence of bolts, especially anchors. Which is what was always tolerated, as the hypocritical double edge of Hard free Clean climbing.
Now I see from posted responses that the definition of Clean is in flux...
painting names is not as un-common as I thought, I've been schooled.

Rich men sin, but you eat routes.
You fudkin' dilletante.
You fudkin' weekender has-been.
You part-time fudkin' n00b wannabe.
You piece of choss that got stuck in my shoe and then unceremoniously dumped two pitches up.
You castaway struck by the fickle backhand of GawD!
I feel yore pain.
Ouch, dammit!!!!!!
Not so hard...
A little bit softer now...
Hey, I really do.
My phone's re-instated. Call me, Dwain. Please. It's insurgent.

Today was the busy morning day for me. Tomorrow should be a piece of cake.
I had no phone. I needed to pay the bill, get the rent paid, and the utilities. All got done PDQ and so I called the VA to confirm that I have a ride on their van to Fresno for an Echo-cardiogram and a follow-up consult, plus I can have my blood work done there, as well.
So having done all that, I went and had a coffee, first in a long time.
The Cinema Cafe has new coffee mugs with logos from businesses and local institutions on them. They are swell, if you like advertising forced on you.
I really was taken by the one I was given. On it is the Merced College seal and motto. I am an alumnus and was shocked that I never knew the motto, which reads "The Torch, the Staff of Knowledge."
Well, if that just don't beat the cat silly. I don't like the logo, but love the motto.
"What's that joe you got in your hand, Joe?"
"It's not Joe. It's m' peter."
Sittin' down to my breakfast, being fitillized by butterfiles, what came next to my eyes caused me a very grim surprise.
A busload of thirty was run off the Highway near Atwater this morning, with a death count of five, and many injured severely.
It made it hard to concentrate on the great food.
But the Gulf fritillaries made me smile, so it was all good.
And life in Merced keeps on at its heady pace, relative to some of the occupied planet,
which is at this moment is the object in the lenses of some very curious sorts from a totally different world out there in space.

The risk that I'm up and sleep has gone is more likely but . . .

IF
A word as big as The Big Stone.
NO.
A big word, too.
YET.
A longer word, longer than the streams of tears from all the El Cap fails.
PIG.
A pig word, suitable for hauling.
SIX.
A climbing grade or the commonest way in which beer is merchandized.
DOPE.
A cool nickname, just like Dolt.
OFF.
The last word.
