One last post to one of my favorite threads.
Currently reading
Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury.
Read it as a kid and decided it was time to revisit.

Just finished Noir, by Christopher Moore.
Spent the first 3/4 enjoying his zany characters, their noir-esque repartee, and 1947 San Francisco.
Spent the last 1/4 screaming with laughter.
Oh, and that cover. Youza.

Waterloo: New Perspectives by David Hamilton-Williams. It confirms what I've always thought, Blucher was the real reason the Allies won, not Wellington.

I'll miss this thread quite a bit.
Still in theory reading Angle of Repose. Reading was going quickly over the holidays but now that work is back in full swing I've come to a dead halt. Also, while the book is exceptionally well written, there's not a single big idea in the entire book as far as I can tell. It's just a well wrought tale of the west, with characters who I don't particularly care much about.
I want to move onto Under the Volcano, but that's a bigger commitment. I will share that the older I get and the more time constrained, I've really come to appreciate sitting down for 15 or 20 minutes and poring over some William Wordsworth. His writings about nature and youth and the passage of time are staggering. Worth carving out a little time for (no pun intended).
