I played several hours of Ultimate tonight, and I didn't throw up or nothing!
... maybe I wasn't running hard enough.

Riley go with some sort of minimalist running shoe and your feet will strike right on their own. I use five fingers. Technigue will help with the shock loading much better than cushioning does.
Also, I reccomends the book Chi Running.

Another week; 220 miles ytd
1634 Pullups/ Inverted sittups
77 pitches
The biggest thing for me this week was getting the Map my Runn app for my iPhone.
I know the serious here probably have GPS watches that record this stuff, but I'm on more of a free app, budget.
I have only used it twice, but it gives me a map of of the course I ran, biked, othered.
Complete with elevations. I can click on a button and get it in trail profile mode. Also gives time, pace, calories burned etc. The maps are stored online somewhere. Not sure what I will do with this data ultimatel,y but it's fascinating.
Could also use it for approaches.
I guess i'm out of luck when i take it out of cell range, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Riley - if possible go to a running shop. they can check your biomechanics and make sure you are in the right type of shoe for your foot.
Most running injuries are not from a lack of cushioning, most are from wearing shoes that are not firm enough to offer adequate support.

Went running last Thursday for the first time in over a year. Had a knee problem. Seems like it is gone now. Did just over 5 miles with pretty good pace. Hope I can start doing this stuff more regularly now...

8 mile bike ride with a 4 mile run in the middle, 900'+ elevation gain, then loss.
followed by 120 pull-ups / inverted situps.
This is just incrementally bigger than my previous days workouts ( except yesterday, that was a rest day) but for some reason, it really took it out of me today, especially the Pullups. I am beat!

Been running on toes recently and can finally run after 10 years of chronic IT band issues or whatever. Pretty damn psyched. Got up Tungsten Peak (near the Bmilks) in 19:23, think I can beat 19 by just "trying harder" - goal is increase aerobic base and get the 18 min mark. Wooop!

A good day today; road my bike 3 miles to the trailhead, ran 6 steep miles and made a new friend-see below, got back on bike, biked some steep miles up to Borgus ranch, where I entered the open space, screamed down the dirt road, some of which had become a deep rut horseified and sporty obstacle course, then back on paved trail back home (another 14 miles)
23 miles, 1573 calories burnt ( I'll never catch up with Salad or Kevin)
Then did today's allotment of Pullups/Inverted sit-ups 64@
so, for the week
59 miles
427 Pullups/ inverted sit-ups
YTD
279 miles
2082 Pullups / Inverted sit ups
My new running buddy ( I said I'd get back to posting visuals!)

7 rounds for time of:
7 handstand pushups
7 knees to elbows
7 deadlifts 185#
7 power pushups
7 burpees
7 pullups
7 squats
Guarantee that this will be not only powerful, but aerobic as well. Don't believe it? Just try and do this under 20 minutes. Running, cycling, rowing, hiking, etc are not the only means of aerobic activity.
