I just thought I would report that this thread currently takes 551.61 seconds (= 9 minutes, 12 seconds) to load ("time to generate this page") on my computer.
When I checked, though, an error message came up.
*!!!ERROR!!!* THREAD JAMMED WITH RIGHT-WING OFFAL. RUN ANTI-TRASH PROGRAM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Mac heads will now tell me that it's because I don't have a Mac. Wintellers will tell me I need a new computer, even though it's only 3+ years old. Republicans will tell me it should be sent to a Palin Death Panel. Democrats will say that it should be covered by their insurance proposal.

Obama is not a socialist, this is just right wing propaganda to try to gain back power. Why is it so hard to admit it?
Calling Obama socialist is about as accurate as calling Bush a fascist. It really feels good to use these simplistic epithets when pissed off, but is it accurate? No. Not accurate.

Now it seems to me one of the big unknown costs to our health care is we don't know what amounts of money are flowing into the private corporations nor do we know how all those funds are being expended. For competitive reasons all of this information is held as being proprietary.
We need that data in order to determine how to restructure the system.
The proprietary claim does not hold water. In the defense industry we often break two portions of the same working group in a company in two, put up a firewall between the two groups and prepare competing proposals. In a pinch two competing individuals sharing the same office can be moved to separate offices. The information is treated much as though it was classified military information and that has a real impact.
If the GAO were to host the data, in a pinch they could even task the NSA with making sure it was all handled properly. The actual data would be plotted up in analysis as Corp A, Corp B and would all be divided by a constant number so the magnitudes would not carry information.
This is all old stuff.
The NSA has computers up the wing wang and both the NSA and GAO have pretty smart people.
We need to put them to work.
We are dying out here.

If you personally were not willing at times to talk turkey, as you are, I would not have bothered to reply. There are people here who really are not here. They are a waste of time.
I raised a point that, I think, is important to our ability to scope the health care problem. You can't solve problems you have not even scoped.
So what is your take on my suggestion?
Point out the holes in it.

And yesterday president Obama gave a nation-wide speech, urging children to work hard, stay in school and never give up on themselves. Does that make him a fascist, a socialist, or a communist? I always get confused about these "angels on a pinhead" issues.

I'm not quite sure what data you believe we're missing, or how it fits in the picture you're painting. Are you looking at expenditures by employer corporations on health care? We have that info. Are you looking at profit margins of health care providers? That most certianly would be proprietary, and for good reason. If a competitor knows my profit structure, they know how to put me out of business. That is not only bad for me, it is probably bad for competition and for consumers.
Forgive my density (if that's the proper description of my state), but I need some help form you here.

At least 44 more moderate Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record in opposition to the current health care bill in the House, a Hill source claims. Likewise, at least 57 liberal Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record saying they will vote against a health care bill without a strong public option.
Unless multiple Democrats flip on their stated position on health care, Speaker Pelosi lacks the votes to pass a bill through the House on the strength of Democrat votes alone.
