edit: No Mr Mouse, I think this is The Right Eliminate in the Peaks.
Randy had met John Hancock in the Lakes district. John had a flat in Matlock Bath and we stayed there quite a lot. He and John had done Kipling's Groove in the Lakes. So named because it was "ruddy 'ard".
I am pretty sure he did Cenotaph Corner but I might not have any photos of that. We traveled to Europe without a camera and everyone there thought we were a little nuts. So one day we hitched to Leeds and bought a little Rollei. I knew nothing about photography (still don't) and Randy insisted on buying slide film. It was expensive so I didn't take very many photos. And then the camera was washed out to sea one day after we were living in Santa Cruz.

Vic is obviously enormous.
He is also homeless.
He does not possess a shred of intellectual curiosity.
He does wonder where his next meal is coming from.
He generally finds one at the Mission.
He tells me that with my beard the way it is, that I look just like his dad.
I take that in a complimentary way.

St. Hiatus has appeared on my monitor as of yesterday noon.
I am functioning only on the Wired Cafe's computer now till whenever.
I will be able to read and do some more wrioting at home.
This monitor at the cafe is blinking black when I type...what fercootie shablah this is.
TNF's gold products were not huge sellers back when.
The Brooks Range Parka was not sold much at our Telly store.
We did sell it, but it was overkill for most customers.
Reading High Traverse's comments on the Cat's Meow, about the estimated lower range for comfort brings to mind a few other tales like that.
Whenever a person complained about poor performance of a sleeping bag it was common to ignore them until they went away...and they always did. One just needed to be patient.
What are you gonna do? Give the customer a new bag rated lower? It was not policy, see. If the bag was underweight, and they never were, then and only then were we allowed to replace the product.
Fred, the Cat's Meow was a poor choice, and all I can say is that there are other sellers of bags with whom you would be happier. I used the YETI model in Fiberfill II for years as it was a car camping bag and much roomier. I was never in twenty degree weather in the bag (it's rating was to that temp) but was never cold out in the snow.
Anomalies abound, and all I can say is what I've said.
I'm going home to drink and sew up a kit fox.

You can't always tell the good guys vs. the bad guys from their hatz. So, as another public sevice bulletin here are some of them:
Good on top. 4 is normal level, 0 is just about 0.
Bad on bottom. 0 is desirable here.
These numbers cannot just be pulled out of a hat. They come from the other end. Why it is called a "stool" I have not yet determined.
Which leads naturally to the issue of probiotics (don't even bother with the amateur ones).
These two have been studied and apparently are useful in fighting the 'common' cold (if you're upper crust, I don't know what to tell you). Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG [LGG] and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis BB12 [BB12].
I just read the label on M's bottle and they are there, so down the hatch.
