Edit to the Gnome's query regarding Shelton's Brothers of Freak:
Getting through times of no money is easier than getting through times of no brass.
No, that makes no cents...whatever, we get the idea.

Badger Faux Gras, purportedly goes well with Cognac.
Fifth Wheel?
I do not recall where that phrase originated. I think I first saw it on a bumper sticker. Noon balloon to Ragnoon, eh?

Looking out the window this a.m., it was hard to decide whether it had truly rained or if it only drizzled.
It turned out it did not rain, and my hopes for this month just fizzled.
I canna wait for the draught of March,
So let us go pillage the English.

STOP DROP AND ROLL
Can some one Post a picture of my Crush over on her latest thread
Don't miss Lynnie, announcement ,
Don't Touch Blasting Caps!
so many memories from my life were put in a box that then floated up to the ceiling
When the basement, where that the box was languishing, was flooded not once but twice!!
Three thing tonight would have fit perfectly
1) Those two P.S.A. Posters the Blasting Caps one had a tow headed boy blowing himself up!
and the Stop Drop and roll, kind of a phat stick figure thingy, I am reduced to the Shablet so no pics.
2)My Freak Brothers comics and goofy pictures of the Fury brats that we were, playing those roles to the max, in North Conway New Hemp shire, One of us, was a full '70s Afro wearing white dude in a rugby shirt and painters pants stuffing a mailbox with 'Contraband.
(Another Looking like Ham bone, did you guys call him that?)
3) Go rock a climber shirt and it's motivational source the red Go Climb A Rock tee shirt .
Plus other old seventies valley stuff.
I think that I was in the valley with my family for July fourth 1976 the bicentennial and had all sorts of handed out memrobialia. Any one else got those pics?

Love all the signs...
So after returning to England from the Alps via a wild crazy long car ride through Switzerland and France with a group of English climbers and one Australian we had met in Chamonix, we returned to Brian's place in Bradford to pick up the stuff we had left behind. Said goodbye to our friends in North Wales and then hitched back to London to Heath Row to catch a flight to California. We didn't have reservations of course; but our ticket was open ended and we didn't have much trouble getting a plane for the next morning. Our experience spending the night on the chairs of the Pan Am lounge of Heath Row was a bit different than New York; but we managed to get through the night with a minimum of hassle. We didn't sleep much as the airport was pretty busy. In the morning, our flight was delayed. Then delayed some more. Finally we boarded. Then were told we all needed to get off; but we could have lunch courtesy of the airlines. So never one to pass up a free meal, we ate our lunch and waited and waited. Finally the announcement came that our flight was canceled but the airlines would put us up in the Heath Row Hotel for the night, feed us dinner, and then shuttle us back to the airport in the morning after breakfast for another flight. We were allowed to grab our checked luggage if we wanted. While we were standing there waiting for our rucksacks, we struck up a conversation with a man standing next to us. Jules Eichorn. (Yes, that Jules Eichorn). He was just returning from having climbed Mt. Kilamanjaro. So we were able to have dinner with he and his wife. Most people on the plane were loudly complaining about the delay as they HAD TO BE AT WORK THE NEXT DAY AND SOMEONE WAS MEETING THEM AT THE AIRPORT ETC. But Randy and I were just enjoyine every moment of our free meals, a warm comfortable bed, hot showers, etc.
On the plane, it was announced that even though we were in economy class, we were all to be treated as first class. Which meant of course unlimited drinks. Very nice to fly over Greenland, looking out the window with a brandy in one hand, a camera in the other and chatting with Jules about possible routes down there on that icy landscape.
