hey there say, gypsy... wow, what a wonderful and sweet share, there, as to the 'being born to parents like you'...
:)
thank you for sharing so many thoughtful things...
and memories...
i have so many treasured memories, from south texas, but, they did not lead to where a young mommy hoped, in life, so they are packed away for in case of use, for whatever, someday...
but i made that trail, the best success that i could, and had to forge
a new one...
now, i am making NEW ones, i reckon... :)
wow, fun to visit here and see such a variety, of life...

No it meant fire water as much was consumed there by members and non-members of The Flames.
No Zbrown, we only made it as far north as the Cairngorms in Scotland so we did not go as far north as the Shetlands.
all four of my grandparents were born in the Azores Islands.

Vincent's eldest, Evi, on the museum's old upright. It's the first time anyone's ever sat down and seriously played this old thing while I've been there. It was a very nice concert, ending with Tantum Ergo, the Latin language benediction hymn.
Meanwhile, the cyclists still circled the courthouse in a clockwise direction.
I've come to this conclusion on bike races that don't have lots of spectators...it's like watching paint dry.
The finale of today's races was a humdinger of a race, with one group of six breaking away and that was that, but some efforts were made by followers to bridge the gap, to no avail. It was an exciting day, all in all.
I spoke with Elks.
I spoke with the homeless.
I spoke with proud moms.
I spoke with a piano player.
I spoke with a bicycle.
I spoke with wild sparrows (I think).
Wheel see you tomorrow with more pix from today's action.

Good morning to you Gnome and all...
will have to watch that. looks interesting...
Meanwhile somewhere in North Wales (Snowdonia) circa 1973
So we were hitchhiking to Scotland from North Wales. The photo depicts the "border" crossing and we were standing on the side of the road waiting for a ride. It was evening and we were hungry. We saw a village nearby and so we crossed the road and walked into the village looking for a store or a café. Everything was closed and there were no restaurants or cafés in the village. There was a pub though and a group of locals were standing outside chatting. We stopped and said hello and asked if there was anywhere we could get a meal. One of the men standing outside said "Just a moment" and he went into the pub. Shortly he returned and he said "she can manage some tomato and cheese sandwiches." We said that was great. We were led upstairs to a sitting room with a fire in the hearth. A woman came in with a tray of sandwiches and a big pot of hot tea. We had the room to ourselves and we enjoyed our dinner by the fire immensely. I think it cost us all of about 50 pence a piece.
We wandered back to the road and got a ride to a campsite near a loch. In the morning we continued to hitch and that is when we met Bugs.

Hi Gypsy,
Thank you for continuing to post photos and narratives and stories. I am enjoying your contributions! Great glimpses of history. Between you and Mouse, with all the historic postings from each of you, the continuity here is stronger and more colorful.
Thank you.

I quit my job of eighteen years last week and I hope I never have to"work" in a kitchen anymore. Posted 2/22/15.
WAYNO A FREE MAN!
It may have gone unnoticed in the Food Porn thread or maybe no one else cares
but
Be there a man with appetite so dead
That never to himself has said
This is my own, my native cuisine--
It should not be part of some terrible 'scene'
In which the foodies make such a big deal
And serve us bullshit with every meal?
At the COR gathering in June.
