Yep. from the New York Times:
There are still many shoes to drop in this scandal. “Given the extraordinary obsequiousness the president has shown in his relationship with Putin, it begs the question of whether there’s more leverage than this,” said Schiff. “That’s one of the reasons why we’re so determined to make sure that we look into any credible allegations of financial entanglements, whether that involves potential Russian money laundering in the Trump Organization or anything else.”

But even before those inquiries begin, we can see that Putin has been in possession of crucial information about Trump’s business interests that the president deliberately hid from the American people. In a normal political world, Republicans would have enough patriotism to find this alarming and humiliating. Every day of the Trump presidency is a national security emergency. The question now is whether Senate Republicans, who could actually do something about it, will ever be moved to care.

So what does it take??? What a bunch of unAmerican ..... things.

and they will continue to vote against their own self interests, calling them stupid only makes them more determined to prove you are right

That's exactly what they tell me!

Trump supporters know they're stupid, and they take great joy in repeatedly demonstrating their stupidity.

I don't get it.

The Deutsche Bank subpoena should be interesting. Might reveal why the bank was shoveling money to Trump when nobody else would. Trump owes DB 300 million bucks. Its okay Donnie, keep your phucking tax returns secret.

Bobs your uncle, or will Bob make him scream uncle?

Who doesn't get upset when called an idiot? The term (or insult?) is not exactly a conversation starter.

While I never lose any sleep when called one, it certainly does not create a situation where I have even the slightest interest in engaging in a conversation or listening to what the person has to say.

I think you are misreading the Trump voter, AntiChrist. Some of them fit that description, but most are just desperate. They've been cast aside by the elite of this country, as the decision was made to chase profits for the few at the expense of the nation. Neither party has done a damn thing for them for over 30 years. They are mad as hell, and they are not going to take it anymore. As Michael Moore pointed out, Trump was their big "F*#k you" to corporate America.

Someone needs to start truly representing the interests of working America and until that happens, more Trumps are going to come down the pike.

"...people who love Trump, and they're actually pleased that he behaves like a 4th grader. They say that's the kind of president that America needs.

We're doomed, because these people are all around us."

I can deal with Republicans who appreciate many of the current administration's policies and directions, but dislike Trump's personality & behaviors as the leader of this Country. These Republicans are discriminating enough to know the difference, and have a clearer sense of what's right and acceptable. Constructive conversation can happen with these people.

It's the rabid Trump lovers that leave me completely lost- they love everything about this guy, including his continual and past asinine behaviors. I don't think there is any way to deal with them except to completely ignore and avoid them at all costs. Unfortunately, as you said, they are everywhere. That just doesn't bode well for the future of society and our Country.

DT's starting off his day with an admission - an ADMISSION - that he *looked at developing* in Russia. I can just see the palm-to-face of his attornies upon learning of that one.

I can also see Mueller smirking as he begins his line of questioning with "Let's talk about the building in Russia you lightly looked into...."

Oh, I get it! I am a very good developer, happily living my life, when I see our Country going in the wrong direction (to put it mildly). Against all odds, I decide to run for President & continue to run my business-very legal & very cool, talked about it on the campaign trail...

I’m going to make a bold prediction about 2020: trump will not be the gop nominee. Dems had better plan accordingly.

I’m not saying he will be behind bars or impeached, because Mitch McConnell ain’t letting that sh#t happen.

But let’s cut to the chase here: we know that what mueller is revealing is only the tippy tip of several icebergs. A ton of sh#t in all shades of brown will be coming out the next two years from both mueller and house investigations. Republican elites gambled on trump in 2016 because many of his skeletons were still hidden away safely in closets, and because they were caught off guard by his strong support and thus had no choice but to back him.

But...Do you think they will make a similar gamble on him in 2020 knowing what we already know about him, and knowing there will be much, much more to come? Will donors’ wallets open freely? Do you think trump will want to go through another four years of oversight hell, especially if the senate looks like it will flip in 2020? Wouldn’t spending his golden years (which for him is actually more orange than gold) golfing be more fun?

That's a very plausible scenario, dirt. And easy to see Trump announce that he won't be seeking re-election, and make himself out to be the noble good guy who has done his work and is stepping aside to let someone else continue his legacy. The rabid Trump supporters would lap that up, big time...and show up at the polls, esp. if Trump endorsed the new GOP candidate.

Of course, the reality of this scenario is that Trump would be stepping down because Mueller's noose is waaaaay too tight, and he's not going to be able to garner the funding and support needed to re-elect. He'd play it out as though he'd been victimized, just to protect his massively fragile ego, and to ensure his base turned out to vote.

there is another elephant in the room

... the contempt that a certain demographic has for education

you see them at his rallies wearing their MAGA hats, screaming in joy as he urges the crowd to physically attack someone and offers to pay for their legal fees for assault

"book learning" it used to be called, but it has always been "You think you are better than me"

"you think just because you went to college that you know everything and you look down on people like me"
--------------

You are not supposed to reply back in self defense of your education and the student loans that you will be making payments on for decades

instead, be ashamed that you are making five times their income and actually have a job that you like

never correct their facts, never show them why their conclusions are wrong

because that only makes them more angry, you are talking down to them, you are an elitist

and there are lots of them, more than 60 million adults, not children, voted for the Donald they adore

Talk to someone with a pre-existing medical condition who is only alive today because Nancy Pelosi steered the ACA through the House and Obama staked his young presidency on it.

This false equivalency horseshit is embarrassingly uninformed at best, blatant lying at worst.

It's true, the Demopublicans scrape a few crumbs off the table now and again. But what did Bill Clinton do for working Americans? Squat! He talked a good game, but did what his donors wanted in the end. Obama talked the talk, but what id he do for hope and change? A half-ass healthcare reform bill that only insured more money in the pockets of private insurers.

The Democratic Leadership Council put the final Nail in the New Deal's coffin.

We are talking about people who pride themselves on being dumb, Dump voters. Duck dynasty types. People who listen to sh#t country music and sing along loudly "I'm a member of the DRINKIN class." Wooo, I get wasted AND I'm dumb!

My friend calls it "the shortest midget complex." They are all short (in mental capacity) and make it a point to prove they are the shortest. If they dropped out of high school and worked the same manual labor job for 30 years and hate anything that reqquires any kind of thought, they are somehow inherently better than someone who graduated, far better than anyone with a college degree, and infinitely better than anyone with a higher degree. They likely piss themselves with joy when people like Dump rip others off with scams like Dump U... serves them right for wanting to learn. They hate doctors, scientists, or any of those "elites" but take full advantage of their services.

The Repugs know if they destroy public education, force women to have unwanted babies regardless of the situation, and promote authoritarian faith based fairy tales they will always a solid base.

Trump will run, and will win the GOP nomination in 2020.
I do hope Kasich challenges him, but I don't think he'll beat him. The GOP base are feral, true believers. The moronic know-nothing, insulting, blustering, swinging dick persona of this president* is a feature, not a bug, to them.

This is one of the better Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson discussion. Its long but worth it. Towards the end Jordan Peterson explains the psychological reasons for the need for the left and the right. A balanced left and a balanced right and the dangers of imbalances on each side.

I am hoping tRump does the right thing and resigns in disgrace, a la Tricky Dick, but considering his ego and the fact he has probably never done the right thing, ever, the slow motion train wreck will continue to unfold.

No matter how many times tRump shoots someone in the middle of the street, his hard core base will find a way to justify it. But that base is dwindling, so I don’t see the tRump Train making it to the station for 2020.
