Bump for the Bloot! Plus I wanted to post this photo of the card that Sonya sent, I just love it as that brace he wears looks just like that!

Anywhoo, he's doing okay. Not great more than a touch tired and quiet today. His calcium levels are high again which makes him groggy, confused and sleepy.

I'm sure he'll be psyched to see the Agent and Paul tomorrow. His beard is really getting to be like a mountainman's.... maybe Leigh-Ann will post some photos!

Blitzo is suffering from Hypercalcemia again - as a result it makes him super sleepy & confused. This time around he's got this crazy altered condition that we haven't experienced before. His speech is all garbled, like really garbled! It's super frustrating for him as he knows what he wants to say but it comes out all jumbled. I told him he was talking jibber jabber and he laughed. Good thing for me, I speak Bloot!

Our poor friend is experiencing his body doing things he has no control over. He was pleading for me to work with the doctor and get this straightened out, "I'm crazy and I want to be normal". Breaks my heart! I seriously don't like it when he's delusional but he tends to be in another place when that happens. This jibber jabber thing is just super frustrating for him and a bit scary too. Mix in that he sees things on the wall and feels like he's living in a different country speaking a different language...... this is no fun for him and keeps telling me he's gone nuts.

The Agent & Paul are going to visit him now, he'll like that and certain to get a new report on how he's doing. A huge thanks to all the people who watch this thread, sending cheer, $$ and good wishes. The love just keeps on coming and we are feeling it!

im mournful and i have no empathy
to extend blitzo, for i've not yet known his
involuntary hardship.

so i'll go piss myself
and pass out in the kamakazi-ant
ridden dust and graduate
beyond the bliss that is my ordinary.

i split my dream in two,
pounding head, pounding sand.

what the f*#k is going on.

im sorry blitzo that you've
inherited this struggle.

continue the fight Blitzo.

People still want you and need you around. I, for one, would like to see some new photos.

Keep the fight going

Saw Blitzo on Friday with Paul. He was pretty out of it due to the calcium business. I've been out of state for almost a month and it was hard seeing the changes that have taken place. I spoke with Susan about it, how shocking it is to see him so thin and weak. The erratic conversation was particularly hard, as he didn't really even seem to know we were there until just before we left.

I had a nice little meeting with the nurses after I found milk and ensure on his lunch tray. Susan has been in touch with them daily and reinforced this concern.

I will be heading back to see him on Friday and I will take any postcards and well wishes sent to Susan and Russ.

He loved the postcard Chelsea!

Site is coming along. The flower portfolio is up and Amanda and I will be loading more portfolios this weekend as well as a special member section so that those of you who donated can pick out your print.

We love you Blitzo. Wish you were home more than ever!

let's all do some really strong 'feel good sendout' for him, perhaps as a group???

Ron,

I loved reading your post and it made me think of something. If anyone has any copies at all of Blitzo's photos being featured in print, i.e magazines and newspapers...PLEASE PLEASE scan them for me and send them to my email at leighann.sulli@gmail.com

I can't get a word out of him right now on where he was published. What magazines...nothing. I would love to have it documented and featured on the website.

It will also help me preserve his collection so much better and get the right images out there. The climbing portfolio alone is a huge beast of images and I'm only tackling the film stuff right now. I haven't even begun to deal with the digital work.

Couple of things off the top of my head where his work is in print:

Southern Nevada bouldering guide.
The newer Joshua Tree guide (the wolverine press one, by Robert Miramontes)
California Climber magazine.
California Road Trip (by Slater, climbing guide to Norcal areas)

Not positive but I think Alpinist magazine has printed some too. Almost certainly Climbing mag and Rock and Ice mag at some point. We have copies of most of these that have his work in them at Blitzo's "house".

Pretty sure Susan has a giant collection of Climbing and R&I that would cover any work he'd had printed there (finding out where/which issues will be a different challenge, the old stuff isn't very search friendly).

Maybe next time you are here in J Tree we can check those out and I can scan them at my house and then file them.

I'll get with Suzy on what she has.

Three weeks in the hospital and things are still pretty rocky for our friend. Spoke with him today and he's hanging in there. It's a tough deal for sure!

Big HUGE thank you to Cragman for your letter & donation. I'm pretty sure Russ sent you a thank you but know for sure that Blitzo has not been checking the Taco, FB or otherwise let alone sending thank you notes. Nonetheless, he is aware of anything that comes in and thanks everyone so much for caring.

Postcard arrived from Jo. Lynne all the way from her Biking/Climbing vacation in Scotland. I read the note to Blitzo and will send the card along with whatever else filters in on the next visit.

Sooze, LeeAnn, Russ, Will and locker -

Thanks so much for the updates on Billy. I check this page at least three times a day looking for possible updates on him. So glad you are all there for him and thank you for keeping us in the loop on his progress.
