Blew past the Chardonnay---and I'm now into the "hard stuff."
Cline Zinfandel at 15.% alcohol------sluuurp.
OK! I really hate fat girl photos.
All my buddies----from the right and left have agreed to no more Fat Girl photos in our emails.
Is there any civility left on this thread for the same agreement?
Those fat girls are not good for our eyes.
No fat girl photos: needs to be rule # 4 on this thread!
Re: why I'm home on Friday night, instead of heading to the mtns?? Same excuse as last post----but I'm drinking myself well!

1. Chardonnay with dinner and a tall merlot afterwards while tooling leather and watching Tarantino's "Death Proof."
2. Fritz said:
"**Yes! Lewiston, one of two most beautiful sights in Idaho.
"#1. The Sawtooth Mountains.
"#2. Lewiston in your rear-view mirror.**"
... and I almost blew merlot out my nose.
3. Tomorrow night I sleep on top of Old Baldy to acclimatize for a week in Mineral King area next week.

A day late. Starting out with a nice margarita down here at my favourite Mexican restaurant, the El Mazatlan in Cave City, Kentucky.
Virgin passage and glory awaits!

Hooray! I get to be the first posting drunk this weekend (sort of.)
Today's "beer" is O'douls Amber. Today's cigar is a Liga Privada T52. Kinda bummed that they are out of my normal #9s.
I don't really have anything bad to say today though. Too content and happy to sit on the porch and enjoy my day off.
Plus, the last of my critical wall gear came in today from Fish, so I'm pretty happy that most of the money spending is over for now lol.
Have a great drunk Friday!

I think you can too lol.
Plus you need to follow your rules Pete :p
Hmm. Ah! Pete's latest wall gear is a Big Wall Blow Up Doll. (Just add a clip in loop!)
:p
Was kinda funny, I was at the climbing shop yesterday and the owner was showing me these bags of wine with a clip in loop - first thought was "Pete is gonna love these" :D

1. Had a Steel Magnolia (rum drink, not too sweet) at LACMA jazz night.
2. Went to the third floor to see Euro Renaissance art. The curators at LACMA barely know what they are doing. They have stuff set up in an illogical sequence. I can't believe they are pros. I could curate so much better than them.
3. Getting up in 6 hours to take my nephews and their buds to Mineral King for a week of backpacking. I hope we dont have to huff too much smoke from the Lion fire the first couple of days.

mental process permeating all causation, highly entropic systems more permeable than low entropic systems, mental process permeates mountain also, but the entropy of stone mountains is rather low, until a rock falls and entropy increases, now mental process is in play, this rock fall has a location in space/time, it may "gravitate" towards climber, rock fall may prove to be the locus of an attractor built into causation, or climber will use senses built into neural network to intuit event, and perhaps avoid it--
well, look, you said to post drunk on a friday night...

Definitely time to bump this one, although I'm still at work and not drinking. Still, at least it's a topic many want to discuss, possibly climbing-related, without politics, religion, conspiracy theories or name-calling. What's not to like?

Thank you everyone, I feel much better now.
I am outside most of a bottle (Heidi stole some) of Cline Ancient Vines Zinfandel.
Good Schist---don't buy their cheap schist.
Now to the complaining part! We did Outdoor Retailer with "summer colds." No outdoor fun for us for nearly two weeks.
Off to City of Rocks for the now-annual round of "Donini punishment" next week. Looking forward to much more August outdoor suffering.
Here's to all of us: cheating death and having fun, this summer! sluuuurp

Starting out with a Rickard's Dark. It's OK, but it ain't no Murphy's. Rickard's is a sub-division of the giant Molson, sort of generic Hoser beer trying to be fancy. Rickard's Red is decent enough with lime, but the Dark is no hell.
I guess I'll have to try something else!
And damn, went free climbing today for the first time in a long time. It's hard, man. My hands hurt.

Fritz, you are starting to worry me. You need to break out of that Zinfandel(primitivo) rut. Try a nice Salice Salentino from Puglia. Branch out. ;^)
Bmacd, I will be in Leavenworth from the 5th-12th of Sept. camping out with the wife and doing some climbing if I can find some partners. If you are around then, than surely look me up.

oui?? Good Froggie Frostback beer?
In November 1992 Maudite (the damned one), was the first strong beer to be distributed in Quebec grocery stores. Maudite is a mahogany-colored, rich-tasting premium beer that has a distinctive, complex taste. Because of the warmth it releases, this strong character beer must be served cool but not cold. Perfect with pasta, red meats, stews and spicy dishes, it also makes a good aperitif and after-dinner drink.
Maudite has a typically Quebecois name that is reminiscent of the legend of the Chasse-Galerie (the legend of the Flying Canoe). Legend has it that a group of lumberjacks struck a deal with the devil to fly home in their canoes, guided by Satan himself, to make it home in time for Christmas.
Gold medal winner in 1995 and 1996 at the Chicago Beverage Tasting Institute.
