Seeing Valerio's video was a real treat! Meeting folks in person and seeing faces I hadn't seen in awhile was awesome.
I can see why Brutus climbed up there...
I can see why Brutus liked climbing with Pat...
and 3 or 4 times I almost ran out this door wanting to cackle and run naked up the hill...
cheers all...

Just got in, photos downloading,
An amazing and very special few days.
An amazing amalgam of people brought together through Brutus and Em.
I had never been to the stonehouse 'ashram'. It was truly the place for this; stoic and vibrant in a beautiful, powerful setting. From the terrace you spy a valley full of buttresses of Brutus climbs, as well as views toward Mt Whitney and Lone Pine Peak, truly a place with Power,
The stories, the music the people. The industry and goodwill generated by those inspired by Brutus was something indescribable to be part of. All of those people making the hike in the heat of the day, was fractal to the energy present.
The evening event had it's own surreal qualities. It was a very good sign when we arrived in various cars at the Movie museum to be greeted by Melissa & J, and Fluoride & beau ( I'm so bad with names).
The museum must be experienced, Western stuff, hollywood stuff, just the sort of ecclecctic moshpit that screams Brutus. Photos might give a clue of a taste...
I had never seen the movie of the Tempest, but I will get a copy, the Brutus remix is especially poignant. Goofy ol' Tom McMillan, even!
The slides, shares, wine and Pizza, lots of it in (no food) the screening room, with vintage western movie posters on the wall, was all it could be.
Back at camp by 11, or so, everyone was beat, but that didn't stop a festive campfire from insuing.
Sunday morning's dawn patrol coffee, followed by pastries, fresh bread, Brutus' elderberry jam and further reminicisses punctuated the weekend.
Add to this climbing, building maintenence, firewood gathering, dog antics (thanks Hanna), Baby moments to keep us groundes (thanks Caityn) swimming in the stream, and all the rest.

Hard to write through the tears...
I'm so very sorry I couldn't make it this weekend. Some stuff came up at home at the last minute that kept me here. I thought about Bruce and all of you at the gathering a lot over the last few days. Looks like I missed a great time.
I'll never forget the times I had with Bruce; his memory inspires me to get out to the crags as much as I can.
I can hear him now: "Lez go climin'!!!"

Thanks to everyone for coming to share your memories and thanks to Brutus for providing us all with so many good ones.
I'm sorry that I couldn't make it to the Stone House and that I didn't have more time to visit with everyone.
Let's keep sending our best thoughts to Em as she continues to work through the reconstruction of her day-to-day. We all loved Bruce, and we love you dearly too, Em.

I never had the privelage of meeting Brutus. I can tell he was a good man though.
Surrounded himself with quality people too!

Beutiful, Jerry.
We went to go see the Bristlecone Pines on Sunday, so your choice of background music was especially meaningful to me.

Brilliant, and poignant, Jerry that expresses that day and much beyond better than I would have thought it could be conveyed.
A slightly different take on Bristlecone, but I think if anyone wasn't there they certainly get the idea.
When are you going back to those constellation climbs?
