its not extreme if it is your normal routine.

giving up beer??? now THATS extreme. just plain dangerous, imho. thinking about cutting back to 6 tonight, though, which should save me about 500 calories.

Zip - not this time, you're doing a fine job.

"I really want to join in, but 10 pounds in 3 weeks could be tough,"

Yikes! Sooze, I clearly glossed over your first post - three weeks, aaghh - I somehow was thinking four weeks. Hey, isn't that 'extreme dieting'?

Gadzooks, I'm going to have to do something aerobic to even get halfway there in three weeks. To quote Everett, from "O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU": Damn! We're in a tight spot!

Way to go Julia and welcome to our little challenge!!!

Chances are I'll never hit the goal of losing 10 pounds in 3 weeks either but my theory is, I'll gladly pay $30 to lose 7.

So for breakfast I have 3 eggs and two yogurts, orange juice and vitamins and/or avocado toast.

I seem to be breathing sounds into the wind....but It's about the exercise. I'm not bragging. I was @ 15 to 20 pounds overweight for the past 12 years. Then Dan died. I needed something to do. But seriously, you can lose weight but unless you put out some work on a consistent basis......

Lynne, too much protien acts as a diuretic, sure it makes you loose weight, but the cost to your kidneys could be too much, which you won't know till it's too late.

fat is the key for me. And staying away from sugar, especially white sugar and that made by alcohol.
Good fats, including butter in the right amount keeps me from being hungry, gives me more energy, and I eat A LOT less then when I try to avoid fats.
I get along good with eggs too. Found out the cholesterol is important for gals our age, helps with the hormone thing.

Good diet tip, avoid most white food. Seriously. Eggs and rice OK

I posted in but didn't post my tremendous 214.8 lbs weigh in.
Had a cup of joe for breakfast then got a little hungrier and had another a few hrs later.
Snapped, then,
Italian sausage for lunch.
Thai dinner.
Not much excersize except chasing the kids and running from the creditors.
Quit drinking beer for the time being.
We'll see how that goes.

I'd like to join you guys but I'm one of those 5'1" people who can't lose 10 pounds even if I wired my jaws shut (well, maybe...) I'd have to go for percentages here.

But I've re-started my own "burn more calories than I put it" challenge today and hope that in 3 weeks maybe I'll lose 3 pounds. Could happily get rid of about 6. We'll see - I, too, love candy and am hard-pressed to give up my cocktails, especially with my stressful job. Actually I'm hard-pressed to give up those extra calories, being a total emotional eater.

God Sooze, you are so NOT Shamoooo - funny though!

Good luck to all yuz guys/gals...I'm gonna keep reading what you're all up to and try to keep up in my parallel personal challenge!
