Woody...most of know the why and what she
he has done for McCain...we just don't agree with her on issues.
She is divider...just like Bush and from what I can see not much smarter and even less worldly than he was. So you have hick chick from Alaska and McCain who was 845 out 847 in his class...easy to see the appeal to the republican base.
Dumbing down has been popular in America for the last eight years.
She got her ass handed to her by the biggest pussycat in the media (Charlie Gibson) and I can't wait for the debates.

"Satan can appear as an Angel of Light" as the good book says.
She is one scary (perhaps good looking) devil.
Religious Extremists are taking over the US:

She and they have an agenda. Don't be fooled. They will do anything to attain it, even stealing the election which they are now in full swing to do so. They can't win without cheating and stealing.
She is not Christian. Far from it.
If McSame/Palin get into office it is game over. We all lose. Kiss the Constitution good-bye and say hello to full on Police State and Fascism.
You might as well go climbing now while you know you have some freedom.
And yet there are some here on ST that think that all of this is just fine and A-O-K.
You have no soul. You deserve what you will get.

Palin basically hried all her old friends to work as political appointees in important gov't positions with no qualifications.
"So when there was a vacancy at the top of the State Division of Agriculture, she appointed a high school classmate, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate agent, Ms. Havemeister cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification for running the roughly $2 million agency."
Sound familiar?
"Throughout her political career, she has pursued vendettas, fired officials who crossed her and sometimes blurred the line between government and personal grievance, according to a review of public records and interviews with 60 Republican and Democratic legislators and local officials."
She also mischaracterized (lied) about state scientists' recommendations regarding the threat to polar bears.
"Rick Steiner, a University of Alaska professor, sought the e-mail messages of state scientists who had examined the effect of global warming on polar bears. (Ms. Palin said the scientists had found no ill effects, and she has sued the federal government to block the listing of the bears as endangered.) An administration official told Mr. Steiner that his request would cost $468,784 to process.
When Mr. Steiner finally obtained the e-mail messages — through a federal records request — he discovered that state scientists had in fact agreed that the bears were in danger, records show.
“Their secrecy is off the charts,” Mr. Steiner said."

Lois you sure do presume to know a lot about how people feel.
I never seen a less experienced or tested person be put in such a position. But whatever.

Every time you bring her up it confirms the comparison.
Keep it up!

Go ahead, make the comparison.
He also has been tested on the national stage now for two years, being grilled relentlessly about his views, and has survived a lot of national heat put on him. In the meantime, he has run a campaign that beat the party establishment's favorite. Those are good skills to have. He's not the most experienced candidate and I've always felt his experneice was thin, but he has enough.
Let's look at Palin.
I read an interesting article today about what she actually did as mayor and what kinds of issues the Mayor of Wasilla she faced. If you think the issues she has faced are similar to the ones she has faced as mayor, or that she is ready for prime time, you are on crack.
Even McCain knows this: why do you think he's been hiding her from journalists?

LEB how many times can you say the same thing over and over again. Try this on for size. "The fact that you are upset by Bush is a very good sign." We are upset because Republicans keep dragging this country down the same stupid destructive path and here you are agreeing that you don't like the direction of the country and then supporting the same stupid candidates with the same stupid policies that got us here in the first place. It is YOU who have lost sight of reality. "I can't believe you would get so excited about Obama omg Palin swoooooooooooooooooooooooooon."
Obama is running against McCain AND Palin. Jesus where do you guys get this stuff. It's Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin. If something happens to McCain then Plain WILL BE PRESIDENT. How hard is that to understand? It's not some internship for future politicians. It's the real thing.
SHE doesn't piss me off. People like YOU do. "Oh hey that Bush fellow didn't work out let's elect other people who do the EXACT SAME CRAP and then hope it turns out differently."

McCain did a great job of pandering. Yaaay.
In 2000 he sternly scolded the "agents of intolerance" in his party. Now he's kissing his their asses. Sad.

"Ultimately the pocketbook will rule, just as it always does. In spite of the lofty things people say, that (the pocketbook) is always the bottom line. "
Yeppers. Fortunately, the strong conservative hand of the republican party has kept true to their smaller-govt, fiscal-responsibility roots for the last eight years, giving us a rosy economy today.

Palin pisses off the right people (Matt, HiDesertDJ, Weschrist, etc).
When was the last time a Democrat on here had something positive to say about their boy, Obama?

Chaz, funny how you pounced all over Obama for some kind of supposed sexist lipstick on a pig comment, dismissing the idea it could have been an innocent remark, then you go and refer to a black man as "boy."
I do not think you meant anything racist by this, but I do believe you were far to quick to jump down Obama's throat. This is a good example how easy it is to say something that could be construed as offensive.

I said the same thing about Clinton, Gore, and Kerry.
To NOT refer to Obama, at least once, as "your boy" would have been discriminatory.

If McCain/Palin got elected, and I were McCain, the first thing I'd do as president is appoint a food taster. Then quietly tell the secret service or homeland security not to let Palin have any weapons when anywhere near the president. And make her eat with plastic cutlery.
Palin isn't running for president, McCain is. He should be judged in part on his choice of her. And neither is saying much about the issues.

Lis, you STILL have not read The Dark Side, have you?
And you won't.
Bcause then you would have to face what YOU have wrought.
Three other books for ou to skip since you woulc actually have to learnm just how pathetic your party is are, "What;s the matter with Kansas?", 'The Wrecking Crew", and "The Limits of Power".
Read all those, then see if you can still vote republican.
Oh lord what am I saying, of COURSE you can, cause the truth and the facts have no effect on you and your ilk whatsoever.
Enjoy ruining the country for the average guy and handing everyrthing to the rich.
PS They do appreciate your vote, but they don't give a damn about you. They never have. they laugh at people like you.
I'm afraid you are going to find this out the hard way if McCain wins, and you'll have nobody to blame but yourself.
