cool deal on the 40 lb-er.

I have a 1000W generator for light power plus my solar system will be working. But the propane lanterns will be nice just in case.

Lynne,

Do you have the smaller metal bocce/boules balls or the larger hard plastic ones? I happen to be pretty good at the game and have a court at my house. It is a great game.

Chicken Skinner, played off and on for years, mostly off.... We play at the beach, camping etc. no court. Never knew they made metal boules. We have always used the really hard composite. The pea is about 1 1/2 " and the actual balls are @ maybe 5" in diameter.

I learned Bocce at San Onofre Beach in So Cal BITD when it was the San Onofre Surf Club. One team throws the pea and then throws their first ball. Then the other team needs to get closer. Close gets 1 point, hit the pea and you get two points plus close ... if you are.

But hey, I can throw so I'll play whatever rules you all want and I love to learn new things.....I am really super happy to be meeting so many people that I have things in common with.

Big smiles on another gorgeous Sunday eve here in Fun Diego.

"Thanks Happi, Great plan....will do. Say, I was thinking about you today. You are coming cross country. I'd like to help if I can. Do you need a tent ? I was loaned two and you could use the extra one. I used it at Tuolumne Meadows just a couple weeks ago and it doesn't take up that much space...I could throw it in...? Anything else I could help you with...PLEASE let me know....Can't wait to meet...Lynnie"

Lynne - I am all set, and have my packing down to a t. I'm going to bring a rope but no rack, so I will even have extra space! That is, if the airlines I am going on still allows 2 checked bags. I guess I had better check....

Lynne,

The smaller metal ones are easier to control. I just bought a new set and might have to bring them for you to try out.

Anyone interested in Frisbee golf? There's a lot of open space around the campground, and I would be glad to bring some survey tape to mark trees...maybe bring a disc if you're interested.

Veto power is reserved for Ken...

Happie, I was sorting and packing today and thought about you and your great advice.

I am giggling as I think of my packing....If it weren't for you I'd be screwed. Here is Lynne thinking/packing.

* two pair gloves..no,no, no it pro won't snow, just bring one pair.

* three pair of p.j,s...no, no, no...Happi would say just use sweats you aren't going to wear during the day anymore.

* 15 pair socks...no, no, no, you're only gonna be there 9 days dudette.

Thanks, Happi !!!! Safe Journey's, Lynnie

I'm now tossing out the second handkercheif and 3 of the 5 hats.

Ken, that would be totally fun. Love to try them out. I have a large extended family. When we get together we compete...at Volleyball, Bocce, Croquet, Cards, Tennis, and more....it's pretty hilarious.

Hope all is shaking out well. Guess I'll be there earlier than I thought, since I have the weekend before off. Arriving a.m. on 21st and I'll be ready to work after I set up my tent. Lynne

Wonder, unless you have a rap sheet a mile long I think we'd all like to see you at the face lift....wait I have that rap sheet and I'm welcome.....so come on down...

HAS ANYONE any info on a Brunton Solarroll flexible solar panel. Just found an unused one in the closet. Should I bring it? It says you can charge satellite phones, cell phones, lap tops and portable DVD's. Be glad to lend it to anyone if it will do the job.

Beta Please.

I coulda used that solarflex panel a few years ago when I went up to the Vampire Spires. My solar set up will charge all that stuff. If it doesn't we'll fire up the generator.
