I'm still puzzled why that climb isn't in the list of "classics".

Is that the step or the summit ridge?

I'm not really sure where that is. I think it's about mid-height, probably before the crux.

Euoroford, your sailing shots look like good times. As if, there are reasons to live in Chicago.

"Goodbye Summer 2008"?

Jeez, I wish I could have said "Hello Summer 2008" here in Ireland. It was worse than last summer.

At least you had a summer to bid adieu to.

Mind you Patrick, I'm not complaining. This is a celebration of summer, though I look forward to the coming fall (and winter, and spring, and summer as well.)

Nice photos folks! I am jealous of most of you. I mostly worked, but I am glad for the work and I did get out a bit. The highlights were

-Climbing with our Kman on Wawona Dome(no pic)

-A five pitch first on Gray Eagle Dome on Shuteye Ridge

-Swiming in our local pools with Mony

Backpacking in Yos with Mony

And more climbing at Shuteye

"Euoroford, your sailing shots look like good times. As if, there are reasons to live in Chicago."

its not the ideal playground by any means, but i can say that i've made the most of it. most of those bike shots are also taken downtown, right smack in the thick of it.

i can now see the end of my time here, august will see me as a front ranger. however, i will look forward to coming back pretty often, and will know how to have a good time when i go!

gotta dig this as well for a fine summer activity.

cowpoke,
It sucks out there, there is nobody to talk to. Also, all the approaches are long bushwacks.

ew, sounds terrible...but just to be sure, maybe we'll need to see some more pics and hear a few details on the route.

edit: felt kinda bad for bumping this thread again with no pics, so here's a lame shot from lumpy from this summer.

Yellow leaves, cool nights, hard to find a parking space on campus ... sad to say, summer did end.

Damn, I need to get one of those camera things....But hell I'm in a few of the pics in this post anyhow...and plenty of others.

What's with the goodbye summer for all you Californians? Climbing season doesn't end here it just becomes slightly more interesting with shorter days.

Yo drc, ummm, yeah, WTF! You don't need to post the details of shuteye stuff on the taco, make em work for it damn it! See you in a few weeks.....

Wasn't meant to be this summer, but I sure dreamed about it a lot, and gave it an honest try, starting at Tenaya.

About noon the day I tried it, I remembered the classic line from Jaws: "We're going to need a bigger boat." Take out bigger boat, replace with stronger individual.

Summer '09, I'll be that stronger individual. You can take that to the bank - WaMu, Lehman's, any of those banks.

Croftian Edit: Peter Croft would eat this, and Jaws, for breakfast.
