However, I'd like to say one more thing:
we all gladly watch graphic depictions
of members of our species murdering
 in extreme detail - other members of our
own species, an act which is in most
cases carries a mandatory Felony sentence:
murder being an international crime - meaning
it's criminal EVERYWHERE - but we watch it,
(and in doing so, celebrate it) for fun.
yet our cultural values seem to have a problem
with the sex thing - kinda weird, certainly
not what I'd choose but, Locker, you know
that's (just) the way it is...

Grumbling about first amendment rights on a private website is silly, it doesn't apply. This is not public property. I'm with DMT on the capricious and unpredictable standard, everyone has moods, why not moderators? Really, enforced moderation on this site is quite rare. I don't even know who moderates here, I'd assumed perhaps Werner had some muscle or Chris periodically checks in, but in truth I don't know and don't really care. Who is RJ anyway? You're not telling me RamJit has been promoted to admin status?
Different bulletin board type websites have different flavors, and ST's is just fine. If you want a side of boobies with your climbing stuff, there's a site out there for that. Hey, I couldn't even get a picture of a penile avulsion that I posted pulled from that place. Of course, that one is sort of like Fight Club, and I probably risk a beating for even obliquely hinting at it...
Option C of course is to start your own site. That's part of the charm of Teh Intertubes, with a relatively small amount of money, anyone can try this at home.
That said, sorry I missed the thread in question, I usually avoid the off topic stuff here, I have still somewhere else to go for that.

It is a testament to the tolerance and patience of the moderators that the thread was able to go on as long as it did. It reached well over 700 posts and was on the front page every day for quite a while. The thread wouldn't have reached 10 posts on most other threads.
It seems to me that the moderators recognize that people go over the line from time to time and cut them a huge amount of slack. It is only when someone goes over the line repeatedly over a long period of time that they get the axe.
For those of you who say that it was unfair to ban Locker. Well, he is here and posting again, isn't he? If they wanted Locker gone, his new account would be banned also. We should see this as a warning to Locker and to all of us that there are consequences if we go too far.
If you want a clearly defined line then you're going to see stricter standards then have historically been applied. Also if you want more consistent treatment of those who cross the line, then you're going to see more people banned, not fewer.
I stopped by the thread a few times. Most of the pictures were R rated but some of them went beyond that. Instead of just having a minute of fun and moving on, the envelope was just pushed further and further. So I'm not surprised that the boom finally came down, I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier. So rather then attacking the site administration over this, I want to thank them for being as patient and tolerant as they have been.
In my opinion, it is only because they have been as tolerant as they have been that this forum is as good as it is. But at the same time, if there was no moderation what so ever, the forum would degenerate.

I saw the "Parting Shot" on the cached version, and though it was....artistic....even Locker should have known better. he admitted he did, but....well, the man does say he's ADHD. Maybe he'll sue the MoleMan for discrimination against his handicap....

I DO see why the thread got the axe, I guess. I can certainly understand why that particular photo was deleted(although....there it was, cached for posterity). But, if I were your mod....I would have emailed the posters fairly early in the thread with a reminder of where the admin felt a line is drawn.
It's just good communication. But - if Locker CAN stay on as C Locker, then I think that the action is fine, after all. Just a little bit off-kilter. Which is what makes Supertopia the great place that it is.(Although, what is a C Locker? He should have chosen HMS Locker, or Cross-Loaded Locker, or something that made sense.....)

The Googles cache link was in a post maybe a page and a half back. It was a hot-link, and specifically mentioned the thread was located through Google and the poster apologized for his nerdy tech skills. I didn't look for it just now but if you can
t find it, maybe that post was removed or edited.

I didn't see that picture,
I'm usually hanging out during the day sort of "virtually" climbing, reading the reports, Bishop, Tioga pass, car repairs, road trips,
etc,
The only thing that bothered me was when I'd scroll through and there's one of Lockers
pics, and I'd have to be wary a customer would see it!
So I self-edit what I peruse

I lost my father three years ago, followed by my middle brother almost two years ago and then the news from "Nudge"...
so I guess it got to me a bit...
but I STILL knew what I was doing so it is NOT the ONLY reason...
