Don't run, or be a victim. Call an attorney and document everything. Has she threntened you or your friends/ guests? If so press charges. You have rights to live peacefully in your home, as she does. Document everything.

Call the police, show them a copy, get a restraining order.

What a lesson. I will NEVER have a roomate or share a rent/lease. Better a tent than trouble like yours. I'd sign off peace and joy like I usually do but I just don't see that in your immediate future. LRL

You live in Berkeley? Me Too!! I'm moving at the end of the month. I have a guest house all to myself for $750 a month! Interweb and utilities included. I'll even sell you my queen size bed for $50!
Ahhh...Berkeley...A renter's dream...and yet somehow a communal living nightmare all rolled into one. The stories I have from living in communal situations in this town are priceless.

Landlord is relatively cool, we spoke this morning.
Roommate has expressed interest (via curt email) in moving out. I'm going to wait and see whether or not this happens.
Backup plan in place: I can be in a new home in a month. Of course Valygirl's suggestion (roadtrip) is a good one. Cheaper too!

Yes, quite a different deal, happie. In Cali, if you piss of a chick it's WAY to easy for her get even with you through "legal" means. It's arrest first, ask questions later here. Kinda f*#ked, but nothing you can really do about it.

Sorry dude, dogs are no. My landlady has like 3(!) cats and is pretty neurotic about them.
I'm sailing off to Bend in a month. For the same rent I'm paying to live in a converted garage I can get a three bedroom house there. I can't wait!
