She doesn't! I will bring an extra tent, sleeping bag, pad, etc. etc. Plus, she is small enough to fit into my clothes... She really doesn't need to bring a thing!

You all never cease to amaze me ! God, I am blessed.

I am bringing my rope, harness and a few pieces of gear. As to the rest. My van broke yesterday, if I have to take the car, not to much sheee goes with me. I will bring my bike. (It's ok, I like my car better anyway.)

Hey, yesterday at the climbing gym I learned to stem....as usual it wasn't pretty, but hey....we be learning. Poor Jeremy is also trying to teach me style....floating NOT scrambling up the rock. It's pretty funnny actually. : D The kid has mucho patience.

Anyone want a REALLY good laugh..feel free to drop by when Lynners is there.hehehe

Thanks for all the great thoughts and wishes, Guys.

It has been a year since Dan left us, and I hope it is appropriate to bump this in his memory. I did not know him, but over the last year we have all gotten to know Lynne through her many and thoughtful posts here, and many of us have met her at the FaceLift or climbing. My sympathies on what must be a sad day for you.

I once had the opportunity to spend some quality time with members of the Lakota Sioux tribe during the time in my life when I was on a quest for spiritual knowledge.

One of the tenets of their tribal life had to do with grieving over the loss of a loved one.

You were allowed one year of grief. Period.

During that year you were free to cry, scream, curse the gods, shave your head, blacken your face with soot - whatever outlet you chose was acceptable to the tribe and the tribe would support your grief and the purging of loss and sorrow.

However, when that year had passed - you, like the seasons of nature, were expected to renew yourself and move on. The time for grief was over - the time for renewal and living was upon you.

Knowing Lynne only through her postings on Supertopo and meeting her at Facelift - I somehow still feel good about her resolve to embrace life and renew herself in the wake of loss.

Lynne is strong and good of spirit and I am glad to know her name.

Hoka hei Lynne!

Ricky D. and Dawn, yo were part of my guardian angel crew at the Lift when we left the Band and Dance Event. Thanks!

Not only do I have the ST Tribe, I have a cool Indian Tribe here in San Diego that "sends" me energy. Have given them buffalo meat for quite a few years and they support mi tribe.

Because of Dan boy and his great teachings I will be as strong as possible and moving on.

EDIT: Sewellymon, you have been a person that was there from the start for me and family. Thanks Dude ! I pray for yo and yours mucho. Peace and Joy, Lynnie

Not my words- but I've kept them as my own...

"Want to be immortal?"
"Be remembered."

You remember your husband and your partner - and it sounds as if you are learning new things from those memories - you grow and he still is.

Nice.

You never get over the death of a close one, but there is time to renew as Ricky said. My grandmother was native Indian and she taught me that the spirits of one visit you after death and she believed that the memories or thoughts you have of a dead one, are those spirits visiting you. So instead of those memories bringing sad thoughts or feelings, that they instead should be celebrated thoughts and feelings. Maybe that's the renewal the Indians speak of. I often get a "feeling" that my Dad(who passed before I was born)visits me at odd times and I channel this feeling into goodness. Lynnie IS renewing maybe through all of those friends she speaks of.
Peace
and Happy NEW(or RENEWAL)Year

Lynne, I don't know you very well. Perhaps we can become more acquainted, I like what you have to say. Its been several years since my mom passed and we were very close. She was my best friend and died in Decemeber (hate xmas, I do!). Let no one expect you to "get over it" or "suck it up" since its just not that easy when they don't obviously know what the f_uck they're talking about. peace be with you.

Hi Lynne,

I don't think we've ever met, nor do I know if I ever met Dan--even though I've heard his name a lot through the years (I was a regular at Woodson from '75-'85), but I sure have appreciated your posts, your positive attitude, and your encouraging words to everyone on ST. Thanks! And God's richest blessings on you and your family as you mark this anniversary.
