Neebee you have an interesting style about your writing.
My projects, about 20 paintings or more in the works. Oil paintings, watercolors and a pastel of life size animals, humans, dreamscapes, etc. An interesting series from Joshua Tree.
I started a training business over a year ago. I read a thread a while back where it takes three years to get a business off the ground. It's working, bird by bird.

hey there mntmun... say, the birds are wonderful... most likely just as the mom sees them.... yeah, i heard about the hardships of buisness, too...
i used to paint with oils and acrylic, a ways back, in texas... but never had the funds to pursue... did sell one picture once--really cheap... but it was a pleasure, to do so.....
say, your deer is great in blue...
i make dreamcatchers, and i collect old grapevines here, or any broken or extra bits of branches that come my way...
i once got some great gnarled wood from my mom, in san jose... made the best dreamcatchers... had started to see if i could sell, etc, as a friend told me i should try... course, me and sales dont rightly hit it off too well... so i give them away, as gifts...
but as to buisness, you really do need time.. word of mouth, and getting up a right good collection of things, to show... too... say, did you do an art show, first, or what...?
best wishes for the project, there...
my other project is using the dream catchers to give away, for when ever i could do seizure awareness flyers... as my stepgrand babe had seizures... so i wanted to use my novels and dream catchers to somehow work together... still now sure how, as i seem to still be on the window sill, so to speak...... just setting...

hey there mntmun... i was just thinking.. keep up the good work, as my mom's sis... our great aunt... she started long ago with her art... she ended up working in the cleveland museum of natural history... she is retired now... but she was a very well known name there over the years...
course, in some ways, it was easier to turn projects into dreams, in those days... more things were just getting started, in the way of new ideas....
say--do any of you all remember when the o'neils surf shop first started in santa cruz??
that's kind of an example, of getting something you love, turn into a business... we all were there a lot... course out on the beach, more, on the break wall.... (still just a bit young then to buy stuff)
did any of you climbers come out of the ol' surfing day, near santa cruz, etc... howard chapman, used to surf... not sure if mark did.. think matt, may have...

Werner is right to speak out against "Mac Mansions" and I completely agree with him .
When I drive around California and see the rock coulums on either side of the drive way with the statues of the lions and sh#t, it makes me sick. Fountains and huge fake looking winery's and stuff. One word,,,Stucco Stone.
Urban Malls and miles and miles of the same old thing. Every two square miles there is a HomeDepot/Costco/Walmart/Lowes/Target. It's like grid bolting.
The big Island only has about 140,000 people. It would be a small suburb in Sacramento,San Fran ,or LA, but is bigger then Conneticut.
The house we built was designed specificly for this piece of land by an architect who ran around this property when he was a kid. He was inspired by Vladimer Ossipoff( the Frank Lloyd Wright of Hawaii architecture, who I also was priveleged enough to build a small house with).
But Werners right,,, the owners wanted to build "green", but ended up using "Ipe" decking and Hardwood floors. (See Bachers map on the North America Thread,, Home Depot Lumberyard)
They also had to cut some old growth cedar to get those rafters.
I guess all I can say in my defence is that 200 years from now this home will still be here, unlike so many others.
I would call it my Masterpiece,, so far.
I've heard Werner has a pretty good view out his front window..

hey there john... say, thanks for the share...as to all that
say, as to those targets, etc... popping up like rows of corn:
my mom's sis... she is 80 now... in cleveland area, in ohio... we went to visit her recently... she, too, know all too well how all these malls have taken over... she remembers the wood line... and now it has disappeared...
they have one good bit of woods, passed down to the kids in there side of family... not huge, just a patch... but this very patch when our mom was growing up--taught her, to teach us... otherswise, perhaps, there would have been no "chappy" out there in them-there yosemite rocks... (just funning, a bit)... but not about the generations teaching the next, etc...
well, her/their dad... had built a stone wall BY HAND with some folks from construction... and we saw the last bit of of it.... (as it may soon be torn down for more modern stores, i took a loose piece out of it to keep--as my grandpa's hand, worked on it and it will be GONE some day--so i overstepped a mite, doing so, must confess)....well, he also did a stone wall done the ways from their house, too....
little bits of humble masterpieces, perhaps never to be seen again, as these huge "cement" deals, take the place of the humble country walls... (the kind the birds love to flock too, etc)...( the kind that plants love to grow around)... awwwww, you guys all know the kind... seems they are near about like the old wall-rocks of nature, that you guys all love to climb! (course a lottttttttt smaller, :) )

hey there john, my other brother is a designer, in los altos... he's seen all kinds of house go up, and does some of course... we drove through the wine-areas looking at some of his, and saw many that weren't as well.......sure-am-sure that i seen some of those same type of "mansions" in those areas... was hard to believe...as to some of them....
though, some spots, back down in the san jose foothills still have nice old homes, and gardens..(saratoga, etc...los gatos, as i said)
