Awesome thread.

Teachers are unsung heroes, especially with the challenges they face today - the parents, the lack of funding, the lack of respect. You have my gratitude for what you do, I could never teach a class.

I always talk to my kids about rock climbing , show 'em road trip pics , and I got the Lost Arrow poster on the wall on the way out :)

If you are letting college profs in, add Mark Powell and Chuck Wilts to the list, as well as Chiloe and KLK, who (unlike me apparently) are too modest to apply for membership.

In the Gunks, the list would be extended considerably. From the old days, add John Reppy and Vulgarians Al DeMaria, Claude Suhl, and Steve Larsen for starters.

I guess I qualify for real now. I've been in education for 13 years in lots of settings, among them: College outdoor education, 6th grade environmental education, 10 years of NOLS courses, several elementary school settings, now teaching a 1st-3rd grade less intensive special day class right next to my house.
