yo brick,

FYI stu and oncler are two different people. i say this 'cause i know them both and they are both good cats. anyway, it was a troll and a good one too. i dont need to get into it because you already know why. humor is a good thing man, and this was out right funny. laugh, climb hard, and remember not to take many things too serious.

peace,
alan

OK stew, I'm laughing. You win, except for one thing. I run into climbers all the time who propose this kind of thing and really mean it. A few weeks ago I had it out with some jerk who wants to retro bolt The Edge on Tahquitz. You may be a troll - I still don't get why - but what you sent up is real so don't just think it's cool to draw me, and the rest of us out and then call us stupid because we "took the bait." You say I should get a personality? You should get a life.

I'm with Ksolem on this one Stu. You may have set a nice little trap, but what point did you prove to the majority, other than you have too much free time?? Was it more important to prove that you can fool a couple people in an online forum, or is it more important to realize that some people really would add color coded bolts to a classic line they have no business altering? I've heard a lot of people talk about doing exactly that, to trad lines everywhere, and it happens quite often. I've gotten into arguments about retro bolting with climbers who don't have any appreciation for those who came before them. If anything, your troll makes me happy to see that there are people in this community who would stand up to be counted to fight such bolting. I believe that it is of tremendous importance to preserve traditional ethics and our collective history, and your troll only proves that there are still some people out there who feel the same.

Not that I wasn't awed by your display of incredibly clever wit, you understand...

hey ksloem, or kris i should say, seeing how you still respond to this makes me laugh all the more. obviously you were taken by it so bad that you are seriously bent. dont be upset at others because you cannot take a joke.

in the world of climbing there will always be questions of ethics out there. so when a highly improbable cenerio such as retro bolting the BY comes out and so many respond with belief, it just shows that many of you take it all to serious.

so kris, enjoy the troll and all others that may come your way. perhaps you and the others who are still bent about it will hopefully find the humor in it. or maybe you wont.

I went back thru the posts on this troll just to see how many got taken by it and it seems like it's close to being evenly split. Some do, some don't and then there's others

now where's that sixer Green Labels that was chillin.

theoncler: So you fooled a few well meaning climbers in an online forum. Big deal. Stop patting yourself on the back, makes you look stupid. As does your spelling and your command of English grammar.

connor,
coming from someone who was an IQ of a carrot, i think it would be best if you just never spoke again. it wasn't my troll you tool, i just went along with it. and i didn't pat myself of the back for it as you wished i did, because then you would feel validated in your response.

so why don't you call home and tell your father what a man you've become. TOOL.

You are all silly children, just go out to a bar and fight with some random person so as to get it out of your system.

paolo,
If you're having trouble Googling it, it's because of the spelling. You'll get the most hits from "bachar yerian"

uh I thought it was rebolted Disco?!#$ The guy(s) that did the job had the brilliant idea to color code the bolts the SAME color as the surrounding rock. Last time we did it, got weighted down with all our quickdraws...so we started choppen bolts to lighten the load for subsequent parties. If you want to do the route "old school" just clip the SILVER original bolts, "new school" clip all the color coded bolts....if you can find them. Sorry if I spoiled your party, but the route is solid if you clip all the bolts. I do like your idea of the green bolts, anything to do with St. Patty's Day?

Whether they knew it was a troll or not, some dudes simply can't resist the allure of talking about how BIG their BALLS are.
