Does anyone have some photos of Bobby? They'd be great to see here.

"Bobby, a budding photographer as well as talented climber, had a reputation for being unkillable. The twenty-two-year-old Cody, Wyoming, native had recently graduated from the University of Wyoming and was primed for adventure. His gangly length and elvish features belied his deliberate nature. I found out he was steady, and he was unstoppable. Bobby would become the most fearless member of our expedition..."

I wanted to express my thanks to Chris McNamara and the staff at Supertopo for providing a forum like this for us to commune. Also, I'd like to thank the many climbers and others who post here for their encouraging words and their amazing compassion.
Bobby and I had just bolted a route at the island in Cody. We were pulling the rope and a baseball sized chunk of granite that we had missed when we were cleaning screamed down and cracked him right above the eye. I was horrified, Bobby turned white and was screaming, I applied direct pressure to the wound and tried to calm him and myself as we groveled through the tunnels to the car. We raced to the hospital with all kinds of scary thoughts , Bobby was on the verge of going into shock. We got to the E-room, Bobby got some stitches and had a few tests and was turned loose. He had a world class shiner but other than that was healthy and happy.
Cyclops was out climbing again a few days later!

Bobby has been a great friend since grade school. I remember when he was 14 and couldn't drive. I was 17 and his mom let us take her new Saab up to Sleeping Giant to go skiing one morning. We were testing it out, you know seeing what it could do on the way home and got chased by the highway patrol. I was driving and he was giving me updates on how close the cop was while we were out running him. We were both scared, but having way too much fun to stop. To try to lose the cop, we drove up to one of the old lodges and hid out for a couple of hours, then drove home, on the lookout. That about sums up my friend ship with Bobby over the years. There were always cops, high speeds and fun times all through highschool and college.

To the Model Family- This tragic event has saddened my heart greatly. I talk to Bobby regurlarly when he is next door, sometimes holding his mail, other times just to say "Hi". You are all in my thoughts and prayers and I hope for a speedy recovery, just as this network of friends here do. Anne, I am thinking of you alot during this time. I can't imagine what it must be like to have a precious child in this situation. My heart goes out to you and Bob both.
Sincerely,
Janet Cozzens

Faith,
Please let Bobby know that Sonja Kireilis and I continue to pull for him. Every ounce of positive energy is being sent to him every minute. Even though we don't get to hang out anymore like we all did in College, we need Bobby out there doing what he does. He is a hero. We want to see more photos and cruise threw his website imaging what it would be like If we could be on his next adventure. He needs to cause some more trouble with Jake and Lyon, Selk, and Nick!!! Keep fighting Bobby!!!
Love Heather and Sonja.

Bob, Anne, Faith and friends: Faith, we really appreciate your up-date. You and Bobby have been in our family’s constant thoughts and prayers since we first heard of the incident. We are all confident that if anyone can overcome the odds, Bobby can. Very few have his determination, tenacity and inter-strength. And he has the love, support and prayers of many as expressed on this website. We love you guys. The Rohrbachs

I cannot think of anyone who has climbed more treacherous
landscapes than Bobby, so I know of know one better equiped for this difficult journey. We are all cheering Bobby on as he climbs out of this abyss.
So know this, everyone who knows or knows of Bobby and his family, is praying that he reaches the summit and comes back to all of us.

Dear Models,
I was very saddened to hear about this. I have not been in touch with Bobby for years, so my wife and I have been browsing web sites featuring his work and his story - I am amazed by his achievements and the life he is leading. He truly is someone for you to take great pride in.
My family's thoughts and prayers are with you, and our hearts go out to you. Bobby - pull through.

Sending you warm thoughts and positive vibes. Bobby is a great inspiration. I'm writing as a friend of Kira Salak, a National Geo writer he's worked with on assignments to Libya and Iran. She's always spoken very highly of him. We're pulling for him!
