Peter,

This photo is actually sharper than the other site's photo but the perspective is way off. As you look up to the top of El Cap, the distortion of the photo causes it to loose value of a close up photo.

I've been using PTGui Pro for my own home brew gigapixal imaging of the Squamish Chief. It does require a lot of computing horsepower to generate the montage, but once rendered the images provide endless rainy day entertainment scoping lines

A motorized head would be nice for shooting

What would be stellar is a high rez photos with everything that has ever been climbed on it as a color coded line.

Then the *last* unclimbed feature of El Cap could finally be found...

Or you could use the xRez image to make a geologic map with pretty colors...

Or you could make a poster and hang it on your wall...

DMT – that’s what we’re working on. I’ll post more at some point. It’s a really fun project!

So beautiful its scary. As a test of how good this is zoomed in and could clearly see the touron firing squad on top of Glacier Point.

Just when you thought that El Cap is simply a huge chunk of granite with some diorite in the middle, technology shows its beautiful face. And its complexity.
