Best wishes for you Steve and for good recovery.
What a scary name of this tread. The only good things that you already posting on it.
Scuffy did not fell 25 feet head first from the Bin, at least the time I was belayed him there in 2009 .But his knee was solidly stuck for good 40 minutes and this was probably even more terrifying..

Steve, i hope you get well soon. I keep thinking we will run into each other in the valley or in some such place. Jaime Olsen just passed through Tahoe a few days ago. Amy - we knew each other from a few acupuncture sessions in Jackson. I'll look you guys up if i'm in Santa Cruz. Chip

Hang tough, Scuff!

Take it easy for a bit, and then get back after it. But take it easy for a while.

I hit the 'wall' a few months ago. Sucks. But you will recover. I know this!

I just saw this terrible--then positive--post. Although Scuffy and I haven't ever crossed paths, my heartfelt wishes for a fast and complete recovery.

Dear ST

So many wonderful responses.
Thank you!! (from Scuffy who is delighted, and amused to have so many
people - old & new, checking in.) Thank you!!

UPDATE

Mike Bolte's post gives a pretty accurate idea of what's going on with language.
Clearly a lot of work ahead, but he is so willing and curious, and cheerful.
I do see clear improvement since the last visit. Yay.

ABOUT VISITING: conversation, friendly faces wanted
(See Peek-a Boo Velcro's post. Free parking)
There do not seem to be restrictions on visiting, so just common sense
The people here seem so attentive and helpful
He's in a shared room, so the person on the other side of the curtain
is sometimes trying to sleep.

What a complete shock, Steve, so sorry to hear you are going through this. Reading more of the thread, we are feeling a little relief that you seem to be in good hands.

Why just yesterday I was thinking of you, practically invoking you really, for I was stuck in a wide climb. Not the first time I've thought of you when in this predicament. I thought Scuffy would not grovel nor swear, thrash and bellow. Our friend and climbing hero, here conjured, inspired problem solving and stamina, resting into the stuck spaces, appreciating every minute move of progress.

You see, you've got so much true grit it's infectious. We have every hope in your recovery. Anyway, life is precious so I must tell you: you are such a pleasure to hang out with, a gentle soul, receptive and caring. Please always know how well thought of you are, and how well loved. Take it easy and let us know if we may help in any way.

Susu you are an inspiration yourself! I will certainly invoke Scuffy's graceful spirit when next I am flummoxed by the wide.

Man, he appeared to me to be a god-like figure as i seconded sacherer cracker with him one long ago september. That last pitch. Oy vey.
