This just in:
http://www.voanews.com/content/mht-five-percent-of-americans-would-vote-for-harambe-president/3444290.html

Americans are not exactly thrilled at the choice between Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, with voters having unfavorable views of both in recent opinion polls.

In fact, five percent say they’d rather vote for a dead gorilla, according to a new survey from Public Policy Polling.

The endangered gorilla, named Harambe, was made famous after being shot dead in a Cincinnati zoo in May after he appeared to drag a four-year-old child who had fallen into his habitat.

This undated photo obtained May 30, 2016 courtesy of the Cincinnati Zoo shows gorilla Harambe.

In an election among Trump, Clinton and Harambe, 43 percent of those surveyed said they’d vote for the New York billionaire, while 48 percent said they’d vote for the former secretary of state. Five percent said they’d cast a vote for Harambe. Four percent were undecided.

Harambe also had a much lower unfavorable rating among voters in the poll, with 27 percent of those polled having an unfavorable opinion of the dead gorilla. Five percent said they had a favorable opinion while 69 percent were unsure.

Trump led the pack with unfavorable ratings, racking up a 58 percent negative rating compared to 51 percent for Clinton.

It's a race to the bottom. The least unliked candidate may win.

Barely a week into the general election we have new evidence Trump will attack anyone based only upon what is going on in his head. And that he is unable to accept criticism. Since these are serious limitations for a president, we can assume there will be many more such incidents. A question.

What happens when Trump withdraws his candidacy? Pence becomes the candidate by default?

When the election has subtracted even more from the estimated value of his "trademark", his net worth will take losses. Things will start to get really serious.

Trump is fine. Why is nobody talking about Hillary openly lying, and everybody knowing it, but nobody wants to discuss that?

She seems to just be able to bullshit at will. It must be true, she said it...

Okay. I don't normally post on political threads. Both candidates are lame. Can't believe this is the best we can do. But then again the congress has only a 12% approval rating, so it is par for the course.

My dad is a conservative christian Texas republican and he does not like Cruz and would not vote for him. He also told the RNC that he would not be supporting them financially because of Trump and that he would not vote for Trump. I never thought that I would hear that. I was visiting when he told the representative from the GOP that.

I like my dad. I believe that he is a good man. We disagree on some things, but he is a solid decent man and I respect his opinion.

Riley.. I have been pissed about how Hillary was picked before there was any real conversation. And have had quite a few arguments about that on the taco.

That said.. what you say about how Trump is vilified for everything he says is also true about what happens with Hillary. We live in insane times. Way too much stuff is put out there that is misleading, often out right lies, and just plain mean. This country hasn't had a decent yet hard hitting conversation in years. Politics is ugly. I get that. But in the last 20 years it seems to have gotten uglier and uglier until now its just insane. I have no idea who to vote for, but my feeling about Trump is that he is an megalomaniac whereas Hillary is just your typical egotist.

Riley. missed what you said about Benghazi. What you need to understand is that just because someone is in the military doesn't mean that they understand the politics or even what happened. My previous landlord and now friend is a retired 2 star general from the army. He is very conservative. He would have made 3 or 4 stars but he retired early because his wife got sick. I helped him care for her when she was dying. He says both sides have screwed up the politics, but the middle east is a landmine. His basic opinion is that only about 10 percent of people aren't just plain dumbasses. That includes military captains. The republicans are just as culpable for what has gone down in the middle east. Hillary did no better and no worse then Bush senior and Bush junior. How many times did the republicans cut the budget for embassies?

Edit: Riley, I don't know if you have read this article, but I believe that it is well worth reading.

http://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/jd-vance-straight-talk-about-poverty/

Interview of JD Vance, an educated hillbilly. He describes the ( i don't know the word for it) ingrained beliefs and ideologies of hillbillies and how it affects them. The same could be said about people in the middle east. Their system of belief leans heavy towards revenge and it can go back hundreds and thousands of years its so ingrained. I have a friend who leads seminars on non violent communication and she has lead some in Palistine and Israel with kids from both countries and she says kids are just kids until they have been indoctrinated. Its a rare person who can overcome their biases once they are ingrained, but if you can get to the kids, then you can see change.

That article also goes into the problems with both the republican and democrat parties. Worth reading in my opinion.

"n grad school I basically use American inner cities as proxies for the study of third world health care interventions and prevention. Our inner cities are gone. The police are pulling back because they can't do anything anymore. Some thug tries to kill a cop and the cop gets blamed.
Lawless areas in cities supported by 50 years of welfare , excuses and attempted government interventions and good intentions.
And not a Craig Fry or Bob D in sight - I can promise you that .,,"

Wow what a living saint, you know nothing about me or what I have done.

How far right are you when you think a married man of 42 years, who wife stayed home to raise three children, who worked his whole adult life without any government assistance is a is a far left radical.
