Our high was 20 degrees F here on Log Hill today . . . 6 inches of snow last night. This is the first "real" winter storm at our elevation of 7800' and certainly our coldest night, currently at a balmy 7 degrees F.

It was 60 F last Saturday!

You guys are killin' me. Send some winter out my way. There's about an inch of snow at 10k in Bishop Creek drainage. Endless summer is nice and everything, but I'd like to go skiing (and also see this drought end).

Woke up to 19 F today here at 5500' in the PahRah range a little north and east of Reno. Still no snow , but a one inch dusting at 7500' in the Selenite Range. Lots of great granite there also.

Going to get colder here tonight. We just need some precip to go along with it. Damn drought.

Such a disparity Bob . . . I sure hope you all get some serious snow. The higher elevations of the San Juan are probably sitting under 2-3' right now.

Bring your sticks and you can stay at our house!

Wtf? I thought you were one of those metric feckers. Are you just trying to be gneiss? I appreciate it.

Are you guys in Squish languishing in this fine weather as we are in Seattle? Sure it is a bit chilly but the sun is bright and not a cloud in the sky. Just barely freezing at night.

As I head south and west - it is colder than where I left from.... High of 34 with freezing rain, this morning in Springfield, Tennessee. I think it will be a day spent at the library if it doesn't warm up. I know how to drive in snow and ice, but it is stressful, and I don't have much confidence in the way others drive.

It will be SO nice when the weather gets back to normal.

It IS going to get back to normal, right????

That's a impressive "Lake-effect" snowstorm in western NY state and surrounding areas. Watched reports on NBC News tonight, and some areas are getting 6' of snow with more expected. Supposedly it's the
earliest/biggest
storm to impact that area so heavily.

(Of course it's not related to global warming.) I don't watch Fox Snews, but they likely made a point of adding that information.
