Telemama,
It is my pleasure. Thank you for showing up. I hope you, Tim, and the kids have a good time. It wil bring back memories for us all. I wish you a lot of luck on the raffle. Newest booty in the last day or 2, is more Patagonia stuff, one night in a condo at Squaw Valley, 5 - $100.00 cerificates from Horny Toad, and some '49er tickets among other things. Oh yeah, 50 ski tickets to June Mountain are on there way. I am overwhelmed and very happy with the response from participant response, sponsorship, and enthusiasm for the project. It is a great reward for me.
Thank You,
Ken
p.s. It's a longshot, but I will watch your kids if you win the condo.

This event is sounding bigger and better everyday! The Yosemite Garabge is trembling in fear awaiting its doom of eternal half-life in a garbage dump...or slightly better being recycled.
Ken I'll be down later this afternoon to help out with organizing the booty, and putting up those tents.

Thank you Jaun.
The support has been tremendous. I hope you all have more energy for the cleanup than I have right now. I am beat. Family has been sick and I hope I don't get it. See you there, rain or shine.

Hey Patrick,
It is going well. I have all day tomorrow to load up my truck and take care of the last minute details. I think there will be a huge turnout. Today is pretty much shot as I had a doctor appointment and physical therapy today. Drove a lot of miles to take care of them the same day. Now it's time to pick up the kids.

Hey all you climbing bums on ST! If you can't make it up to Yosemite for the Facelift, why not show your support for this great effort by sending in a few bucks? I just did, and so can you. Make the check out to YCA, and send it to:
Yosemite Climbing Association

Yosemite will thank you!

Thank you David,
We got 728 lbs today. Most of it was toilet paper, cans, bottles, and cigarette butts.

The Facelift is a lot of fun, and I recommend that anyone who can, attend and help. I was there on Wednesday, and got to spend a day picking up garbage - in the company of John Stannard. A delightful day, though the economics of a (retired) physicist and a lawyer picking up garbage may not work so good... Still, we got our quota, plus I got to meet Ken and talk shop. And all sorts of helpful rangers and NPS people were around, too. Sorry I couldn't stay for longer, especially all the fun evening events, and of course the "Camp 4 National Historic Site" ceremony on Sunday afternoon.
All praise to Ken Yager and his helpers for their effort organizing this.
I very much agree with Anastasia's suggestion, that climbers need to be more effective as a community.

We have gathered over 3,000 lbs of trash during the first two days. The REEL ROCK Film Tour went very well tonight in El Portal and was well received. We will be showing another tomorrow night at the East Auditorium behind the Visitor Center at 7:00 pm.

Patrick,
They are! Yesterday the El Portal Schools had a field trip and helped out. The Kindegardeners were cleaning around the Village area and an adult threw their cigarrette butt onto the concrete, walked a few paces, looked around and saw all these young children picking up trash. The offender turned around and retreived the butt, put it out, and disposed of it properly. Made my day
