Hasn't anyone else here noticed how many former "regulars" have gone missing?
It's because of all this preadolescent, testosterone-enhanced bullschitt!
A year ago I almost quit posting on Super Topo, and have primarily restricted myself to CLIMBING THREADS, and TRIP REPORTS.
I fully agree with Vegasclimber's earlier comments.

That link is worth this whole thread. I particularly like Rule 12: "The correct number of bikes to own is n+1," since this also applies to cams, ropes, pairs of climbing shoes, etc.
We ought to try to put together a set of rules for climbing, but that's probably harder than herding cats, which Mythbusters has already proven impossible.

No one with a reasonable amount of courage should be worried about Ron wanting to kick someone ass. Because he doesn't just go off. He gets pushed and pushed and pushed and finally loses his temper. So if you don't' want your ass kicked, then stop f*#king pushing. If you didn't notice, he had the trouble with ebay, which directly affects his income. then he was harassed by the fake Ron. and all along for some time now he has had apogee riding his ass every time he posts, simply because Ron did something that apogee didn't like. The thing is, the real blame for Joe getting banned was on Joe. Do I respect Ron for ratting out Joe? Not really. But I also don't see any reason to hound him like apogee has done. I don't care for the snide way Ron posts, but plenty of other people on this forum posts the same way. Including at times Apogee.
So what is a person suppose to do when someone hounds them? If he rats them out then he is a rat. So what do you do? People say ignore, but it gets old coming here and seeing sh#t like what apogee was doing. If ignore is what someone should do, then why don't people ignore Ron.
I agree with Werner, people are more respectful in person, because they know they could get their asses handed to them if they aren't.
The internet brings out the worst in people. Sometimes it also brings out the best, but most often it brings out the worst. People can behave terribly because there is little to no consequences.
