Stunning pics Ian.
Unusual but effective use of color.
Thanks very much for posting.

It is nice to see such interesting...

(Dare I use the word awesome and go for the trifecta?)

...and awe-inspiring shots, Avery.

And CarneBlanco & BringMeDeath, too.

AWESOME: (ad-jeck-tive) extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear.

Great admiration from the Peanut Gallery, anyway. neebee is correct in saying,
"These are a great collection of photos... very very well done..."

Does anybody know who took the above photos?

Lots of El Cap action in this shot of a friend, Ottawa Doug, taken by a friend, Tom Evans. Route is SSPO. June 2013. You can see the piece that popped on Doug as he takes an unexpected ride.

I just searched on the name watermarked onto the above photo and found it:
http://www.haukkari.net/2013/10/yosemite-2013-zodiac.html

Looks like the "Ledge for One" bivy on Zodiac.

Where are you getting these photos?
Shouldn't you determine ownership first and ask for permission before posting copies of them?

Thanks for the warning Clint.
I make every endeavor to find out who the original photographer is. If a photographer finds his/her pic on this thread and doesn't like it I'll remove it instantly.
Am I breaking any specific US law by doing this?
Some facts would be nice, Clint
(Incidentally if I am breaking the law the whole of Supertopo is in big trouble)
PS: I deleted the pic because I already have it.

Avery,

I don't know if you are in violation of a specific US law.

But I am trying to say that it's courteous to cite the source if you post a photo, especially if you don't have permission from the photographer.

My guess is that you have collected these photos over time from the web by saving them to your PC, but you didn't record the source or photographer.
Perhaps you should repeat the web collection process and record the sources this time.
Although I enjoy the challenge of identifying photos of climbs, naming the photographer can be much more difficult.

Do you know about tineye.com ? It can be used to search the web for the source of a downloaded photo. But once you upload a photo here, the photo gets alterted by compression and the match won't be as precise.

photo by Chris McNamara, from his trip report on this site. Not very hard to search for - use this search text in google.com:

Well Clint, You'll be pleased to know I've removed all uncredited pics.

Sleep will come a little easier for you tonight.

You were at least, technically correct to bring this to my attention and I thank you for that.

I can assure you that this thread was put together in good faith.

Good bye, Clint Cummings. Its been an education.

Avery,

Sorry if I came across so negatively.
At least you were interested in who took the photos and were
trying to figure it out.
(Some people don't even go that far).

I will start a new El Cap pic thread very soon. This one is dead in the water.
