My image quality isn't great, but the photos take me back.
Never sent the gnar, but got after it with enthusiasm.
Above photo is from Hell Roaring Canyon just north of Canyonlands.
It was rated 5.7, A3, but these days it is 5.11+.
Couple of dirtbags on the summit of Castleton.
Sans style points for outerwear.

Forgot to post the summit shot.
To approach the Witch, we camped on the rim of the canyon and fixed three ropes into the canyon below. My wife stayed behind at camp and took some photos for us, hence the perspective of the climb.

One old friend, two new ones, and a bottle of wine at Bandana Central, the first pitch ledge on Lunar Leap, Lembert Dome 1977
Same ledge the next year, but sober
I've got history with that ledge. One time I was just pulling over onto it when I found my nose inches from the rancid urine filled solution pocket on the edge, as my belayer called out "You're out of rope".
And since this thread is about vintage sartorial splendor, I'll throw in a picture of some damn hippy at the parking lot below Lembert.

Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man
Actually, the traverse to the arete on the unrepeated Ulf's Arete, Mt Constance.
I guess that with the road now closed my legacy is safe from exposure.

I've always enjoyed looking at this photo and thinking about my stress-level while crawling across a log in the Cascades, early Jan. 1980 or 81.
The log was glazed with ice and my pack was heavy.
We made it up to Colchuck Lake and climbed the NE Face of Colchuck the next day.
