I made my reservation today at the cabins at the Outpost. Will be there from Monday the 23rd night for 7 nights, through the weekend. I'll be happy to join you all at the crags during the day and around the campfire in the evening - and then return to my solitude at my early bedtime!
Now I just have to make sure I can actually climb by then. I'm eagerly awaiting March 1st, which is my cleared day to climb again. My surgeon warned me: slabs for 2 months before I do anything overhanging. So by mid-June I should be able to climb something!

phylp! Thanks for the update! We do like those fine cabins at the outpost and will look forward to seeing you for climbing & socializing.
As you know: there's lots of slab climbing at COR. I've always enjoyed slabs, I just don't have the fire in my belly for long run-outs anymore. Following is good!
Ddriver & T! I think we can work you in to this opening, so long as T fits most common definitions of human?
Let us know??
We are really serious about "no pets."

We can so some things together on Window Rock, East face. Also take a look at the pictures I posted in Bloody Fingers Corridor: Intruding Dike is less than vertical, and only a one-move overhang on Hough's Crack.

P.S. I was too sick last trip to do Twilight on Breadloaves with donini and Fritz last trip, so that's a possibility, too.

I am looking forward to climbing with you Rodger! I think this will be my 5th or 6th trip there, so I do have recollection of a lot of lower angle climbing available in a variety of places.

WTF: It is never easy to be on the "sharp-edge" of trying to organize a gathering.
After responding to your earlier post today, I mentioned to a friend:
I figured I would get worked on the no pets provision at the COR-gathering, but the no-kids reaction was a slight surprise.
Oh well, if some people on ST don't hate my guts, I'm not doing my job.
Best wishes & best hopes that all of us will enjoy both COR in June, and all of our fellow climbers.

We just happen to be going at the same time (my brother and his family live in Boise), I think it's totally reasonable to have a no small kids rule for this sort of event. I'm not complaining in the slightest! We'll be there Sunday through Saturday.
Also that group site is pretty dangerous for kids if they wander towards the Twin Sisters since they'd go right across the main tourist road.
Besides, with 4 small kids, any time a couple of adults get free we are going to be on the rock one way or another…headlamps if needed!

Hey Greg Barnes, as a well experienced parent who knows how precious climbing time is and how hard it can be to feel comfortable enough to leave the kiddos long enough to get a pitch in I offer my sitting services for you and yours to get some crag time in.

At some point I may drag my kiddos to COR, but not to worry, they're both adults. My younger is gonna' be 40 this year!
We still get out in the mountains together in Colorado, See picture!
Our project is 14ers. Other than myself (I've done 21), my son has accompanied me on Huron Peak and summited.

My pooch who will be in the kennel.
She's actually a rescue dog. Her owner was a double amputee and wheelchair bound, who had some other medical issues arise. The dog's vet was the nephew of one of my climbing friends in Casper. This is my 5th Rottweiler.
Having a dog like this one beats going to a shrink.

I don't think this trip will be too bad, the kids are older now, last trip we had a 4 week old along plus 1.5 and 2.5, this time it'll be 1.5, 3,4,5. Keeping them off the cliffs (when unroped) and out of the cacti will be the name of the game!

Good Morning TacoNaaaaaaaam.
I love the idea of this climber's gathering at CoR. I have it pencilled in my calendar and am tending towards inking it down. 85% sure at this time. But here is the deal. Whereas I do appreciate the NO KIDS - NO DOGS sentiment held by many Taco I am a package deal. When my kids were little they went on all our climbing trips. It wasn't necessarily easy but it was rewarding particularly considering the fine people and conscientious land stewards they have become. I didn't have the luxury to "kennel" them for other's convenience. Now it is really me and Goldie Girl and we are a team and she will be coming with me. I am sorry if anyone is offended, irritated or annoyed by my decision but it is what it is. She truly is a great soul and a marvelous crag dog and if after this trip anyone truly disagrees with me on that I will eat a bowl of her dog food. Greg Barnes rest assured that Goldie is a gentle sweetheart with children large and small. I mean, if you really want to feel secure about your little ones then Goldie is your girl. So if I get a chance to do some chitlin' sittin' for you the little ones would be well tended.
OK so to make a short story shorter here is my offer/pledge I will be responsible for Goldie, cacti and rattlers and curmudgeons et al. I will find a place to camp that will not impact the group site. So you can reassign my space to a waiting lister. I will crag with anyone who is unafraid to fall in love with a very special four pawed soul. Or I would be fine with keeping she and I away from anyone or everyone that is bothered by the idea of a dog at the crags. She won't be a bother to anyone that doesn't want her around.
If that is not sufficient assurance and if folks are still adamantly opposed to DOGS and KIDS then I will stay home and wait for the trip reports. It's no sweat off my nose either way.

Camping well I'm not a bragging parent, Well yes I am and here is a fact. My kids would rather camp out than live in a house. No matter how cold or warm they are some serious campers. Something about camp fires marshmallows and chocolate covered graham crackers that

lumineferusother! With Philo moving to an adjacent dog & child friendly campspot I will put you on the 30 folks max camp list.
I appreciate you dog & small child folks working through the restrictions and I am looking forward to meeting, greeting, and maybe even climbing with all of you.
I do suppose we could even arrange to exhibit some of the climbers to the small children -------if the climbers would show some restraint in that kind of situation.

Just for the record, I'm fine with Goldie and smaller children around, but this was set up as an adult gathering from the get-go. What some others here don't get, is some of the folks in this gathering have had "negative encounters" with large dogs, as well as OP squalling brats.
Fritz is to be commended for setting this up, but "you can't please everyone every time."
I'm looking forward to hanging out with lots of wonderful friends, climbers or no... Let's all just go there and have fun!
P.S. Philo is officially commended by me for his understanding of "the dog thing," as well as his outstanding offer to do some babysitting for others!
