No, the ccw part makes sense. Consider, they dont want to advertise the fact. In reality, i suspect such a thing would be used as a belly gun only, at actual contact distance. Any more would be irresponsible, like shooting blindly into the dark. (didnt our V.P advise his wife to do exactly that btw- the dude who was suppose to take the lead on gun control?).
Dont worry- it wont likely happen in states with live-fire qualification, where you have to hit a paper (inaudible) target to get a permit.

edit: "mudda mucah" OR, faddah mucah! (wanna be PC on these types of threads/sites!!!1!

i haven't really read any of this thread, don't really give a sh#t, but will say this; if someone in my family, a dear friend or loved one was legally blind (and it couldn't be corrected with prescription lenses of some sort or whatever) and they were being harassed by some lowlifes and there well being had been or was in danger of being threatened (for example, robbed, beaten, raped, killed, or all of the above/happens all the time here in Amurica) simply because they were vulnerable, i would say, "F*#k the right to carry permit for the blind." (if they hadn't enacted it yet) and personally given them a sawed-off (both barrel & stock) 12, 10 or 8 gauge double barrel shotgun and instructed them to say, "Oh, please don't hurt me, you can have it all." and when they (the perp) got up close and personal (came into contact) stick it in their gut or crotch, open up with both triggers, and blow their nuts (at a minimum) off.

Ok, two more questions:
1. Followup to my earlier one- Are frangible bullets from a self-defense caliber handgun going to be stopped by 2 layers of drywall?
2. Can someone provide a reason how allowing blind people to discharge a firearm in a public place is a good idea? So far I haven't seen one.
Edit- make that four...
3. Why not let them drive then?
4. Where did I say that blind people are stupid, have poor judgement or no common sense?

It's not that they are blind it's that they have the right to bear arms and discrimination is an expensive slope.
Actually, WTF, it really isn't. As I said before, there is plenty of legal precident and case law showing that Rights can be limited in the interest of public safety. Heck, if that weren't the case you wouldn't need a CCW permit in the first place as the 2nd (apparently) says you can bear arms!
How about we put it this way: Is it in the public interest to allow blindfolded people to discharge firearms in public? If not, why would it be ok to allow blind people to do so?

Lets be honest. It is only fair to give concealed carry permits to blind people.
In their world everyone else already has one!

Ok, put it this way then... Is it in the public interest to allow *SIGHTED* people to put on a blindfold and then discharge a firearm in public? What if they claim SYG? And what about if they're both blind and deaf? Does it serve the public interest to allow discharge of firearms based on *smell*?
Seriously. Can someone PLEASE give me a rational explanation of why it's in the public interest to allow people who BY DEFINITION CAN NOT SEE put others at risk while engaging in an activity that BY DEFINITION REQUIRES SIGHT in order to use proper judgement? I've seen quite a few posts with stating that I'm prejudiced against blind people, but fact of the matter is that "proper judgement" for a blind person would be *not* carrying a concealed weapon since they are physically not capable of seeing what's downrange of their intended target.
BTW, blind people shooting at a target range is a strawman. It has absolutely nothing to do with CCW or using proper judgement when using the firearm in self defense in a public place.

Colorado Senate President John Morse, state Sen. Angela Giron ousted
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_24066168/colorado-senate-president-john-morse-recalled-angela-giron
In order to force a recall, supporters had to collect a percentage of valid voter signatures based on the turnout in the previous election in that district.
Because the turnout in Morse's election in 2010 was so low — a race where he probably would have lost had there not been a Libertarian candidate — no one was surprised when that recall effort succeeded.
It was a different story in Pueblo, a heavily Democratic district, where three plumbers armed with laptops linked to a state database not only collected enough valid signatures but had a low number thrown out.
"Giron's disregard for the majority of her constituents to vote 'no' on anti-Second Amendment issues and her general disregard of our Constitution and the rights of the citizens of Colorado demonstrate she must be removed from the Senate," plumber Victor Head, president of Pueblo Freedom and Rights, said in a statement at the time.
