Awesome! Just put my request in this for this year. I requested Upper Pines (somehow I'm partial to the place and like the location) so will be there to support MisterE, JTM and contingent. But no worries, I'll be doing the rounds of all other fine locales as needed!
Who knows what adventures, insights, and discoveries are in store for this fall? Don't have a clue, but I know they are going to be wicked keen (letting a bit of my New England roots seep in).
Cheers!

So it sounds like you'll register for daily assignment out of Upper Pines if you're located there? Is that right MisterE?

There is a season for everything, Anastasia. It sounds like you are solidly in tune with the turn of the seasons from your corner of the world. What a wonderful and powerful experience that will be.
Peace,
Eric

Hey Fletcher,
The daily registration and assignments are at the Visitor center each morning. Trash weighing is each evening at the Visitor center, followed by fun stuff.
I will be at Upper Pines this year myself.

Hey, and if you have a minute, check out Rick A.'s thread about submitting comments about the MRP via the Access Fund (I hope I got that right). Comments are due by the 18th of April, and another 50 or so commenters from ST are needed!
Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Paul,
Thanks, that was my understanding from last year. MisterE mentioned up-thread registration happening in Upper Pines. Maybe that is just for checking into the campsite, but I'm not sure so that's why I asked.
I kind of enjoy moseying over to the Visitor Center each morning and seeing what's up, but I'm good either way and just glad to help out. Looking forward to running into you in UP.

Thanks for noting that Lilabiene. I submitted my comments a day or so ago. Here's a direct link to the Access Fund campaign for the Merced River Plan:

Fletcher, what Paul said is correct - we are registering arriving camping volunteers in Upper Pines only.
Assignments for daily clean-up will be at the Visitor's Center booth, as usual.

Is anyone else who sent their camping request on 4/1 still waiting for a response?

Managing the FaceLift camping is a formidable task, both in terms of planning and reservations, and seeing that it happens smoothly. We all need to help, especially with the privilege of "free" camping. May I suggest that those requesting camping, especially in Camp 4, be realistic about their plans? That is, don't request more nights and places than you really are going to use, and if your plans change, let the coordinator know asap. If your plans are unsure, it may be better to ask for space in Yeller Pines, where a few campers more or less on one or other night makes less difference, and is less visible.
Space in Camp 4 is at a premium at the end of September. If we don't use all the spaces allotted for the FaceLift, it's rather visible, somewhat embarrassing - and directly affects other climbers. Whether there'll be a change in policy this year, i.e. so that unclaimed spots in Camp 4 are reallocated after one night, isn't my call. If people are realistic about their plans, and live up to them, it won't matter much anyway. Please don't request dates/spaces at Camp 4 unless you're reasonably sure you'll use them. Sure, there'll always be "maybes", but there's room to accommodate them elsewhere.
And yes, my comments on Yosemite plan sent.

Sounds reasonable to me Anders. I very much appreciate the free camping that has been provided for Facelift.
I resent my camping request today.
I have sent my comments on the river plan.
