Hey Karl, is that on Crest Jewell? Cool composite. I like your Himalaya shots. Too bad about the 200 ISO film. They would be great murals.
"I can't believe how often I see somebody with an elaborate 8x10 view camera or obscenely expensive rig in Yosemite Valley, pointed at a poorly lit subject at the wrong time of day. Sometimes I wonder what they think the subject even is."
HA. I see those guys too and just figure they must have a higher understanding of light or something. I know a guy who is really caught up with the resolution he gets from his 4x5. He doesn't have many interesting images, but they sure are sharp!
Dirt, I'm trying to find something from a POS ?$200 camera. I'll have to go back to pre-1994, which isn't pretty.

My Ricoh GR-1 is the point-and-shoot I take up with me on climbs... here is a picture in morning light of a pine tree on Higher Cathedral Spire... shot on E100, aperture priority.

I love em!
Bob that indian group is great!
But guys, POS is not point n shoot, it stands for Piece of Shyte.
My POS had full manual controls, I use em when I really want to play.
BUT the presets on the lil Kodakian POS are so good, and the expsure +- setting is simple, I have pretty much learned to get good stuff without resorting to full manual in many situations.
IT's not as easy as on a good old film slr, to go to manual, and the lack of manual focus drives me nuts, BUT, I really think I have demonstrated some of the capability of my MIGHTY POS!!!!!
BUt in the end, image sharpness is a bit lacking.
I love the sharpness you guys get from the better gear.
I'll dig out a manual exposure of white ginger lilies and post that one up.
