I still think about it as a possibility - pro photography - I was doing a lot of wedding work at the time, but I started another career . . . maybe some day.

The only time I wear hot pink lycra is for art. OK, and sometimes when the ladies ask me too.

(Sorry for the cheap scan. I don't have a slide positive scanner. The above was done with a 5" x 7" repro-grade dupe back-lit by a light box. Works in an emergency. I need to get one bad.)

Good-night gents, until another Mussy Neb day breaks . . .

About a decade agoI spent a day at Donner Summit playing sub-man to Peter Surrey (last known residence: Oakland). As an interesting sidebar, Peter escaped being pancaked in that earthquake freeway collapse by about four minutes. Kind of like rockfall, don'tcha think?

Anyway, here he is cranking on something or other at the Star Wall:

But I must have sucked as a sub, since that was the highpoint, and poor Peter was denied!

Other fun was had though over on the Black Wall. Someone better name the routes for me though, since my brain seems to have been swiss cheesed by random musson particles that passed through the inadequate shielding of my nebula buggy.

Last shot "Rated X" maybe?

Off Bra,
I drove out that double decker highway out there between Berkeley and Oakland that very day and checked out a theater venue for what was to become the Jeff Lowe Berkeley World Cup at Greek Theater.

I was WAY up in the Theater in Oakland with the Tech Director, like up where the old rigging and sand bags are -then the quake hit. The building was bending, literally slapping our legs as we ran down the stairs into the street. The sidewalk was buckled all around the building and the road I had driven out 45 minutes earlier had become a collapsed tomb.

Off in the distance, there was smoke furrrowing out of a Venue Where I had Seen Lou Reed Play: Berkeley High School!

426:
Last Donner shot-
I can see the firecracker roof area out to the right, so you are correct, not the rated x.

Pat: Werner looks happy-
Is that so unusual?

Wait wait wait a minute -- Werner, you don't sport a mustache these days? Oh! Shatter an image why dontcha?

While I've got your attention, and we're demolishing illusions, first route BVB and I ever did in Tuolomne was Werner's Wiggle. Rumor was it was put up in workboots. Fact or fiction?

Oh, and 426 is on the right track - Fire Opal rings a bell, I know I'd remember if I did it, but fact is I don't think I ever left the ground: Peter was not happy to have failed. The other both location and as "little 11- mixed unit" describes it perfectly, I just don't have the guide to connect the recollection to reality.

Donner is such a charming cragging area, eh? I suppose it helps having a friendly perma-bivy nearby.

Werner's Wiggle was J's first route there too.

I'm probably still too afraid to climb it.
