I have always admired America. There are extraordinary scientists in America. I have always admired America for the freedom of speech and press. I have admired America for the ability to integrate people from different cultures and nations. I have admired America for pushing "the borders of the possible" within science, adventure and sport. I still admire America. The whole world is still looking to America, learning from America.
I wish America, the people of America and president Obama a Good New Year!

it feels so great to hate
and to divide us and call us "you people"
and to pit one against the other
feels great to hate Communists
and illegal immigrants
and Liberals
and George Soros
and Media Matters
and the US President
This all feels good to you
get belligerent
get angry
get insulted real easily
and it feels good, to me, to hate not you but your naive stupidity
and every damn thing that contradicts every lie you have been manipulated to believe

Dr F -- "What have the Republicans done that was Good in the last 30 years?"
They gave you a platform so that you can continuously rant all day and night.
You were born to rant.
All you politards were born to rant day and night.
In your next lives you'll all come back as politicians with millions of idiots ranting about you all.

Please blhugh….. when was the last time government told you anything? When was the last time you had an interaction with the Government. Pathetic.
How about the latest example of being told I can't buy incandescant bulbs in the 100W range?
Also ask the incandescent bulb manufacturers why they were laid off for Chinese-made CFL bulbs.

Karl, this was my first post on that story;
The administration is probably monitoring this story. Not for insights into public opinion, but to see who needs 'attention' for being too darn American.
This is how communism starts. Laugh if you want. Vote very carefully in the next election.

But maybe the USA should restrict or even ban firearm sales and use - for Christ's sake, and the sake of the beliefs and values he's said to have preached.

Sheesh.
Do you have any concept of gov't regulation creep???
And yeah, people who don't own or understand guns would just like them to all go away. Except from those who acquire them illegally, which you will never stop.
Not to mention, at that point only your peaceful gov't overlords will be the only ones with guns.
Hitler understood this very well. (Did I just drop an H-bomb on the thread???)

That link Blue provided was 721 days old, and was an OPINION piece only.
Now, the FACT is that President Bush had eight years in office to sign legislation allowing
CCL holders to carry firearms in Nation Parks.
Obama signed that exact legislation in to law after being in office less than two years.
WHY did Republican Bush NOT sign it, and Democrat Obama DID ?
Make decisions of what people DO when they are in office, and not what they SAY on the campaign trail.
FACT: Obama has given MORE gun friendly "rights" to Americans than Republican Bush
bet you didn't know that

I can see the outline of a rant, in the OP, but I can't find the actual work...
Agreed.
Political? Sure, in a Hatfields vs. McCoys sorta way. Rant? Nothing worthy so far. Epic? Hardly.
Just Sayin'.

I think Bluering is off in his targeting but those who say the government is a cool these days is rippin too much bong.
They just passed the Defense Appropriations act which claims the power to detain anyone without charges or due process indefinitely on mere suspicion of terrorism.
Then there's SOPA, where they claim control to shut down any website where possible copywrite infringement takes place, which includes supertopo cause you guy post pictures you might not have rights to post.
They don' need to ban guns cause they have you outgunned by military (and if those guys balk at controlling you, there's always the new incarnation of blackwater)
The government knows the economy is about to crash and that the wrongdoing of the fed, banksters and others will be revealed and they are making sure they'll stay in control when people get pissed.
Not to mention all the election crimes being committed.
It just has nothing to do with communism and everything to do with Fascism, (which is how you define Government and big business teaming up to control everything with a tight fist)
A little more emotion and this might be a rant!
Peace

Exactly what I'm talking about. If you harkin back to my OP I did mention fascism.
But my bottom line is that the gov't is trying to take too much control that is not necessary, nor justified. It's a power-grab. If you look back at history, 'regimes' that did this imposed ill on their populace.
They people were not free, and they did not thrive and prosper.

FACT: The toughest, most restrictive GUN LAWS were signed by Republican Reagan
FACT: The Democrats under President Obama HAVE NOT "renewed" the Reagan legislation that took away gun "rights"
In FACT; Obama's allowing guns in National Parks by CCL holders is THE most lenient
piece of gun "rights" legislation on the Federal level in 15 years.
I ought to know, I can NOW carry loaded in the National Parks in my state THANKS to
Obama.
I could NOT under Republican Bush.
Truth keeps getting in the way.

Norton, you are pretty lame at your propagandist duties. This legislation is still being floated by the One. But it's being rejected even by some Dems.;
http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2011/07/26/democrats-oppose-obama-un-gun-control-treaty
This is another part of my rant. The UN is trying to float laws upon us that defy our very Constitution!
I hope they do it because the House has said it will revoke ALL UN FUNDING if this is attempted upon us. Thank God the entire Congress isn't insane and sold out.

Blue, I stated a FACT
Apparently you think I made it up. You are factually wrong.
I stand by my statement that Republican Reagan signed the most restrictive gun law.
And I stand by statement that Obama signed in to law, and Bush did NOT, the CCl law
in National parks.

You're correct. But I was talking about the UN regs.
EDIT:
Go ahead with your "freedom" argument and try to convince us you really want to live in a country without laws, or even simply without environmental regulations.
Just less laws. And ones that actually make sense.

Ok Blue
Then I am sure you also understand that the United Nations has NO "authority" over
any country.
In fact, the UN is becoming increasingly marginalized and many people would just as
soon see it done away with.
Personally, I would not waste any time worrying about anything being bantered about by the diplomats at the UN. They have no power to make law.

It's their mindset and their goals that are particularly troubling to me. Of course they'll never get that, but they would if they could!
That, my friend, is global tyranny.
